And Joelinton and Isak when we want to get both him and Wilson on the field together. We need a RW.
-
He should be our best scorer from the left. Let's hope Miggy has another great year on the right.
-
He's 25 and has never done this in his career. I would be happy with 10 from the left side next year.
-
So what was the point of Anthony Gordon? We spend 75m on two LWs and ignore RW, LB, and RB? Definitely need to sell ASM if true, and he will be a bargain since everyone will know we need to sell. LW: Gordon, ASM, Isaak, Big Joe, and Barnes?
-
ACLs are bad news: UPittMedCenter No way anyone spends €60m for him. Being able to play across the front three is certainly nice though.
-
Gordon is a right footed lw and Diaby is a left footed rw. Gordon can also play rw and cm, but we only really use him on the left where he played predominately before us. Diaby is a much better offensive player and can also play lw or cm. The only similarities are with their versatility really.
-
He looked very good for Brighton and very bad for Chelsea. Not sure what happened there but didn't Brighton play a back three in 21/22? He played in a back four at Chelsea.
-
And we just paid too much for the same player (Barnes is the one we should have been in for) in Anthony Gordon. At least Gordon is about four years younger. I hope we keep ASM and upgrade on the rw. Agree, Barnes only makes sense if ASM goes. We need more scoring on the front line unless Miggy comes charging back with another great year. He could always regress to 21/22 form.

Pretty sure that is a player version. The only thing that would make me wonder is the breathability/stretchiness of the fabric, and I can't tell whether it has more ventilation than a normal fan shirt from your picture. Pretty sure it's a player version: iron-on badge? check; tighter fit than normal? check; stretchy ventilated light weight fabric? Can't tell from the photo (can you compare it to another Castore shirt you own?). Also, hot take: i like the 19/20 puma jersey.

Targett missed 17 games and 78 days with injuries last season, and we know EH eases players back into the rotation so I think it's a bit early to write him off. Seemed like we were pretty happy with him when he came over.
-
Scoring was an off and on problem throughout the season and Miggy going crazy for a bit kind of bailed us out. The defense was really amazing November through January and then started to give way toward the end. We need a frontline scorer and a defensive addition with our next two moves. Midfield after that.

Yeah, I'm still mad about Mac Allister( £35) but wouldn't really care if they paid a lot more. It's the bargain basement price that I can't get around. Even if it rises to the potential £55m, they got a good deal in today's market. I hope we really liked Tonali more because Liverpool are about to get Dominik Szoboszlai for less than we paid depending on who you believe (this article says £52m). Of course they are different players.

Except the salary box.
-
They paid £70m for him and have him at £200,000 a week for seven years. Good luck with that.

James Maddison (now playing for Tottenham Hotspur)

I think he would have helped improve our scoring and made the team better. I guess the 170,000 a week salary and his desire to move to London sank the deal. I wish we could have at least pushed the price up some before Spurs got him. -

Alex Mac Allister to Liverpool for 35m and James Maddison to Spurs for 40m appear to be the deals of the window so far. I wonder if we made any attempt at Mac Allister at all. City would have bid Maddison up to 50m if they were in our place. -
Kudus under contract through 2025 and plays cf, am, and rw: transfermarkt.
-
I wouldn't call Chris Wood a success and still too early to tell on Targett, Gordon, Kuol, and Ashby.
-
Targett missed 15 games and 78 days last season. I think EH starts to get him more playing time. Burn is a valuable back up lb and cb. Our defense got us to CL but it also was looking a bit worn out in the end. 2 clean sheets the last 20 games (10%); 16 clean sheets in the 26 games before (62%). Really wonderful streak from November trough January.
-
An asset that has gone from 3.4m to 1.0m in value (according to transfermarkt)?
-
Burn had a great season and loves the team, but I think he gives way to Matt Targett who got injured twice last year. Wonder why neither West Ham nor Newcastle loaned Harrison Ashby.
-
We got Ashby because he was going to run down his contract w/ Hammers who were desperate to keep him. I would imagine West Ham offered a loan to get more playing time and he rejected it. And we are 10m apart despite offering Ryan Fraser too? Something is odd w/ this rumor.
-
Seems like a waste to stockpile two young rbs (one of whom will become disgruntled) when we could use a lb, cover at rcb, and another scorer on the front line.
-
The idea of Burn going up against the type of quality right wings we are going to see in Champions League is a bit scary. Seems to have good closing speed w/ those long legs when he gets beat though.
