  1. I think the context of the time missed is important, if you land awkwardly and dislocate your shoulder which needs an operation it is one of those things. We have seen with Trippier and Isak in the last 18 months that freak injuries happen. The problem with Tierney is that he has had 2 of these in the last 4 years as well as a few other niggles.
  2. Someone made a good point recently when they said that due to the wealth of the premier league teams compared to all of the other league in Europe, the top spending teams have little option but to sell to each other. That is why Man City were selling to Arsenal and Chelsea last summer.
  3. I put this in here due to the cup final today but what do people think about this?
  4. The Magpies will be playing Champions League Football next season which may sway the 21-year-old towards a move to the North East. However, the report claims that Forest are "certainly in the running" having "already probed" him "for some time". It is also pointed out that the Reds already have a Brazilian contingent in midfield with Gustavo Scarpa and Danilo among the 30 players to have arrived at the City Ground since Steve Coper's side were promoted to the top-flight through the play-offs in 2022. Another report from Globo Esporte claims that Sao Paulo are willing to negotiate his transfer if they receive offers in the region of €15million (around £12m). https://www.nottinghampost.com/sport/football/transfer-news/nottingham-forest-face-newcastle-transfer-8484688?int_source=amp_continue_reading&int_medium=amp&int_campaign=continue_reading_button#amp-readmore-target
  5. Was it a case of one or the other? Otherwise I’m not sure how the deals relate to each other?
  6. City didn’t loan out Lavia or Edozie either but they did Bezunu, all sold to Southampton for for over £30 million combined and a good chance all have some sort of buy back option. None of them played a league game for City either from what I can tell. It helps balance the books if you Can get it right.
  7. That has been my feeling too, they will spend what they can get away with on the players on the shortlist.
  8. Yeah, Longstaff went off injured against Everton which was a game which had Joelinton on the left and Isak on the bench as he was being rotated with Wilson.
  9. If everyone was fully fit I think Joelinton would be first choice wide left, so I don’t see him there as cover.
  10. Man Utd get Mount Liverpool get Mac Allister Arsenal get Rice Man City get Kovacic Chelsea get Ugarte We get McTominay.
  11. Daily Mail saying we have been offered Joao Felix on loan. Not much else in the article so won’t post the link.
  12. This was what Ben Jacobs said about him in February… What has Jacobs said about Tielemans? Jacobs has told GMS that Tielemans will not be short of potential suitors in the summer and that there is ‘some interest from La Liga and the Bundesliga’ alongside the English top-flight. He said: “There'll be plenty of clubs looking at Youri Tielemans. Newcastle are another Premier League club to watch. “And there’s even, I think, some interest from La Liga and the Bundesliga too in Tielemans because as soon as he becomes a free agent at the end of the season, then ultimately, these type of clubs not only see a bargain because they don't have to pay a fee, but Tielemans’ wages, by Premier League standards, are relatively modest as well.”
  13. One of the main issues last season was that we didn’t have anyone to rotate with Bruno, who could sit deep and play the ball out from the back when needed. Tielemans could do this and open up options in midfield. The other option is that we get someone like Alex Scott who would cost similar over the length of contract when you include his transfer fee, with no idea of how good he could become at the top level. Remember that the young championship player of the year the previous year was Brennan Johnson and there hasn’t been a clamour for his signature on here.
  14. We should be all over that for squad depth.
  15. Is he going to considerably improve our starting eleven this season as that is what we should be looking to spend our transfer funds on.
  16. I don’t think it’s anti British more people preferring the excitement around a foreign signing and how they will do over someone already playing in the Premier League who they think they will have a rough idea of what they are going to get.
  17. Liverpool could be enquiring in a number of midfield players to cover themselves, I would expect us to do the same.
  18. There seems to be a lot of Premier League midfielders likely to move this summer… Maddison Mount Rice Mac Allister Lavia Caicedo Ward-Prowse Tielemans
  19. Chelsea are not signing Joao Felix who is returning to Spain. We should look at a loan with an option to buy.
  20. He has played 5 seasons at Leicester at this was the first season they have finished outside of the top 10, in that they have finished 5th twice gaining European football for both and won the FA cup. Leicester have deservedly had those high finishes due to the quality of players they have had there during that period. They are far from a one man band.
