Romano's been chatting about doors, and the other three are chiming in. It's all just opinions, not official stuff. Like Ornstein's take on selling Isak to fund transfers – the same Ornstein who said Isak was staying this summer. Look, there's no official word from Newcastle about selling Isak once we get a replacement. Liverpool asked, we said no. Liverpool bid, we said no. No counter, no price. We went into the summer wanting a CM, CB, RW, CF, and GK. We got the RW and GK, and tried for a CF, but no luck. It's total BS to say Liverpool bid once Jackson comes in. Liverpool's being linked to Barcola. It's not as simple as you're making it out to be. Liverpool won't wait for us. They gotta look out for themselves, just like we're waiting on Brentford and Wissa.
-
That's not how transfers work, yeah? Liverpool needs a striker, so they won't wait until the last minute. What if we say no because we don't have anyone to replace him? Then they'll be looking for other players, who might already be gone or their teams won't sell because there's no time to get a replacement. Liverpool won't wait, man. The only thing holding them back is the price, and we're being stubborn. Their 110 bid proves it. If we'd made a counteroffer, the Isak thing would probably be sorted by now. It's just media stuff, mate. Seriously, if Isak leaves, we need two forwards. If he stays we need one. Season starts next weekend. We will definitely have seen movement by then I think.

1. Romano, is that you?? 2. On Guehi, you don't think Liverpool will try to get him as soon as we make a move, right? They linked with him. 3. So we will take Hope's word for it now that we are after McGinn? And McGinn will not come cheap. Villa will want atleast 30m to 40m. He is their captain, leader.

Seriously, you really think he's right? You're usually so logical, negative but logical, now you are just negative. If we knew Isak was leaving this summer and wanted to use the money from his sale to get a CB, CM, his replacement, and a goalie, why didn't we try to get a bidding war going for Isak when Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool were looking for a striker? We could've easily gotten 150 million! (With add ons) Instead, (if we believe Ornstein) we waited until Chelsea got JP, Arsenal got Gykorese, and Liverpool got Ekitike, and then accept to sell him for, like, 30 million less than we thought he was worth? (Liverpool wouldn't pay 150m now, no way.) We waited till the only available market for him is one club (who i believe just see him as a market opportunity) when there was 3 clubs. It makes no sense at all. So, I think the plan was to get Isak to sign a new deal with a release clause for next summer and get a young forward now, like JP, to take over when Isak leaves. I think it all started when Isak saw Liverpool get Ekitike, Arsenal Gykorese, and Chelsea JP. Those clubs could afford him. Unless we lower the price, Barca and Bayern can't. David Ornstein is chatting clickbait sh*t right there. Its just not logical.

If we get Sesko, we'll be in a much better spot with Isak, yeah? I reckon this whole thing will be sorted pretty fast after that. Either Liverpool cough up the cash, or he stays and we've got those two up front this season. If Isak leaves, we'll go for Wissa. I've got a feeling Liverpool can't afford it. Over 135 mill plus the reported 300k a week is a lot. That's a massive spend on top of what they've already done, and they still need a CB and stuff. We should know more by Friday.

I don't really trust Hope, even though @gdm and others do. He just gives his opinions on stuff. Like, he says we can't keep Isak if we get Sesko and Wissa. I reckon most Newcastle fans already know that – you don't need insider info to figure that out its obvious. If we sign a left winger for like, 30 million, we don't need "sources" to tell us either Barnes or AG10 is gone. That video was just clickbait. Ever since the Isak thing, he's been pumping out these videos, and they're mostly just opinions. Most of the forum already figured that stuff out ages ago. Yeah, Hope's probably the best reporter on nufc, but the competition wasn't exactly tough. So, nah, I don't think he's super reliable. Insider information would say wissa is a Wilson replacement and sesko would be a Isak replacement, meaning if we sign sesko, isak is off regardless of Wissa. As Wissa is back up. You think Liverpool will wait for us to get Sesko and Brentford to get a striker so we can get Wissa before we sell Isak? Bearing in mind they do need a forward whether its Isak or not. Nah. That was pure opinion and waffle from Hope.
-
Nah, that's not right. The idea would be JP or Ekitike would join and get settled this season, and Isak would leave next season, and hopefully, we'd be back in the Champions League. If something was up, why did we say Isak wasn't for sale when Liverpool asked? Also, with Arsenal and Chelsea looking for a striker, wouldn't it have been smarter to let agents know Isak was available to start a bidding war? Chelsea would've been just as keen as Liverpool and Arsenal for Isak. That would've given us the freedom to get JP or Ekitike as replacements, plus the 150+ we want for Isak. Why wait until Liverpool is the only option? Also, Liverpool doesn't really need Isak, they just see a chance to get him cheap, so they'll try to lowball us. No. Its not patently obvious as you are suggesting.
-
Wrongly addressed. So you telling me Liverpool are waiting for us to buy a striker to bid? So we get wissa they bid? We need 2 strikers going into the season. I think Liverpool see Isak as a market opportunity, not a pressing need. They already have Ekitike. So they won't force the issue especially if we demanding a kings ransom. They will wait till we ask them to bid, so that they have a bit of leverage in the talks. Once we get a striker (wissa) we are in a much stronger position to be firm on our valuation, unless we get 2 strikers through the door
-
Nah, they won't. Liverpool's just trying to box us in, you know, get a bit of an edge in the talks.. They were offering 120/30, which was with add ons included, but we want 150, and most of it now. Liverpool won't go for that.

I reckon it's about his pay, he's seriously underpaid. He's our best player, but he doesn't get the most money. We should've doubled his wage last season, and we wouldn't be in this mess. All the clubs knew Newcastle wouldn't sell Isak unless it was a crazy offer. Romano, Ornstein, all of them said Newcastle would be tough to deal with for Isak. Instead, they went to Isak and said he's one of the best in the world. They offered him a wage to match his status. 300k a week. Of course, his head will have been turned. The golden rule in business is to protect your investment, no matter what. We didn't do that last summer, huge mistake. If Man United bids 150 for him and offers him 350k, he's gone, I reckon. So, if we don't sell him, and pay him what he deserves, he'll sign. Eddie said it's up to the board now to figure out what to do with Isak. Let's see how if Isak really is Yasir's favourite player.
-
I reckon a lot of us Newcastle fans wouldn't be too bothered selling Isak if we got over 150 for him and had someone lined up to replace him. The real worry is how much Liverpool will actually offer after trying to unsettle him. If they offer 140 plus 15 in add-ons, cool, we rebuild. But not 115 with 15 in add-ons, no way. So I find most of these opinions rather condescending and biased. Sell isak to Liverpool, its your coutinho moment! All teams sell blah blah. Pay the 150 plus and you can have Isak.
-
Has to be above fair value mate. If Isak was at Brighton, they wouldn't accept 120 or 130. They got Liverpool to bid 111 for Caicedo guys. They would want 150 plus for him. We are in a strong position, Liverpool want Isak, fine pay up. 150 please, if not fuck off then. We should be a club thats tough to get players from, again look at Brighton, you go there to pay through the nose for their players, no cheap deals there. Look at Forrest now, noone is gonna mess with them after seeing the MGW saga. This is our moment to earn a reputation of being difficult negotiators.
-
I don't get why people think Isak can't rejoin the team. Howe's a brilliant manager, and we've got great leaders like Burn, Trippier, Bruno, and Schar. After reading Trippier's thoughts, I don't see why it's an issue. Anyone saying we should just give in to Liverpool is wrong and a total downer. Liverpool wouldn't sell Suarez to Arsenal, and they didn't sell Coutinho when he asked to leave, but they sold him later for a ton of money. Brighton did the same with Caicedo. We should do the same with Isak until we get a crazy offer, yeah? Rebuff all bids unless our 150m is met. Tonali, Livramento will be gone next summer if we dont play this right. We will become a feeder club. We absolutely should not accept Liverpool shafting us.
-
I bet things will be sorted by Friday, whether Isak's staying or going. I doubt Liverpool will offer 140/50. They'll probably stick with the 120/30 they were planning. If he's off, that's probably what the club will have to take, I reckon. It'll be interesting to see how we play this. I bet our star players and their agents are watching what's going on. A bad precedent this If we took a bid of 130 and we're taking a huge L here. Liverpool getting Ekitike ahead of us then Isak? Their fans will be going nuts about how we crumbled before the almighty Liverpool. They'll be so annoying, insufferable and cocky. 😒😒 Wish Yasir could pull of a Greek on Liverpool, like Forest did to spurs over MGW.
