Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)
tarie4 replied to Miggys First Goal's topic in Football
He has 24 goals and 10 assists in 65 games in the EPL and is 24 years old. They definitely get over 50 million for him. They bought him for 32 million. -

Yeah, I was wondering that too. I don't really follow the Bundesliga, but how did he do with Marmoush before he went to City? I've heard they did 4-4-2, but also 4-4-1-1. -

Chelsea dont sell cheap. Delap will go for 60 plus and Pedro will be 80 plus. Chelsea are literally what Brighton are, but on a higher budget. They bought delap to flip him in 2 years time for double the price. -
Who's watching Fulham and Brentford? But Fulham and Brentford fans will be watching Liverpool and Man U. That's the problem, isn't it? As a Newcastle fan, you'll watch all our games. But you're probably gonna watch Man City vs Arsenal and skip Palace vs Everton. It just gives even more money to the big teams.

Honestly, I'm not sweating on Liverpool getting Isak. The finances involved just doesn't make sense. I've been hearing from LFC YouTubers and reading tweets, and they're saying they'll sell Nunez and Elliott, and they've already sold Quansah to pay for Isak. So, are they really gonna sell off all their squad depth to sign him? Sell 3/4 players to buy 1? They already need two center-backs, since they only have three right now. If they sell Nunez, they'll need two strikers to replace him and Jota. And if they sell Diaz, they'll need a replacement for him too. I'm pretty sure Liverpool won't go for Isak this summer. They can't afford the 150 to 170 million needed, plus at least 300k to 400k in wages. It's not gonna happen. They'll wait for him to run his contract down, and maybe try to convince him not to sign a new one.. Thats why the likes of Ornstein say its a difficult deal to do and cant see it happening this summer. Let their fans keep talking, those entitled twats. If we manage to convince him to sign a new contract, I dont see him going next summer as well. The finances needed to get him will be too astronomical. I dont see anyone paying that.

Liverpool aint buying a striker untill they sell Nunez.

How many assists did Minteh get last season compared to Elanga?
-
Probably transforms our play too, with his passing.

Quantity you mean. I don't think they're that great, just a bunch of players who are kinda okay, you know? Average players. They have a ton of average strikers and wingers. If you take out Palmer and Caicedo, what's left? Neto who they say is their best winger got about the same stats as Gordon who we can all agree was awful for large parts of last season.

Seems its a universal thing then. Cause I feel the same about English youngsters.

Clickbait merchant this one.

Fair play. But i have to disagree with you on the finishing 5th was a miracle.
-
You could say the same about the last time we finished 4th. Nobody predicted us to finish 4th. If noone predicts us to finish in the CL next season and we do, is that a miracle too? All I'm saying is with the players Eddie had at his disposal, best striker in the league, one of the best pair of fullbacks, one of the best midfielders finishing 5th isnt a big miracle. He performed above expectations is what I would say. Miracle no. But for the cup. Absolutely legendary stuff and a true miracle. For 5th? Nah. That 4th place finished with burn at LB and Longstaff and Willock in midfield getting 70 points and a cup final is the miracle to me.
-
Winning the cup was a miracle, finishing 5th wasn't. We cant say we have the best striker, and one of the best midfields in the league, then turn around and say finishing 5th is a miracle like. The cup yes. But the 5th place finish no.

Seriously? The owners, board, execs, and management have gotten us two Champions League qualifications, two cup finals (won one), made record revenues year on year, and built a squad with world-class players in three and a half seasons. They have achieved more in 3 seasons than what others failed to achieve in the previous 40. And you're saying they don't know what they're doing or aren't doing enough because we haven't used PSR loopholes and don't have a training kit and ground sponsor? Yeah. We are definitely becoming an entitled bunch aren't we. As you were

They should call up TCD he will do a cracking job 😃, jokes aside. Wor Mandy did tell us that they are patient investors. Like look at Villa and Chelsea they sold their womens teams to benefit the men's team out of desperation, not from a healthy financial position or strategic position but from a poor financial position backed into a corner. We're not in a bind or scrambling to please PSR, right? Wouldn't it be smart to just hold off? Let's not forget about how this'll mess up their women's teams and womens game after they got sold for an over valued price. There's a lot wrong there, but we can save that discussion for later.

Your view from the outside, yeah? The problem is, you don't have all the info, and you're totally ignoring what the club's saying to the fans about sponsorships and stuff. That's basically what you're saying, right? That's how it comes across. You don't know why the club isn't maximising its sponsorship deals, and you won't even listen to their side. They have told us why. After all this you think they don't have the skill or desire to do the job completely ignoring how our revenue is up year on year at great levels. All without maximising our potential. Now, chill out for a sec. Think about it logically. Actually listen to what the club's saying. Look at the APT thing ( how our orignal Sela deals got rejected?). Think it through. You might, just maybe, be totally wrong this time. I know it doesn't happen often, but maybe you are this time. Just something to chew on.

Okay, they gave a maximum of 10 years right. We in year 4 at the moment. How well do you think we have done so far considering where we are headed?
