  1. Yeah, 60m sounds about right if he's only got two years left and the club doesn't have an option for another year.
  2. Yeah, let's offload the Longstaffs, Willocks, and Targetts first, before we even think about selling our best players.

Yeah. Eddie rotated well, and it helped us. They were both fresh and scoring goals. A backup striker needs to be versatile so he gets more playing time. Like City had to sell Alvarez because he only played striker. Marmoush can play striker, left wing, and CAM, so he'll get way more minutes than Alvarez did at City. Isak can't play every game, even if he's fit and healthy. He needs to be rotated. I don't see him starting 8 games in three weeks; probably 5 and 3 on the bench or else he'll burn out or get hurt, probably the latter.

Aye, he did, but mostly 'cause we didn't have anyone better on the bench. You saw the last ten games, right? Isak clearly needed a break; he was just going through the motions in most of them. You could argue he'd have been better at the end if we'd rotated properly.

I personally have zero sympathy for Villa, they were 1 of 18 clubs to vote in PSR. I will have sympathy for Forest as they weren't in the league at the time and I would like to think they would have voted against it. Villa can suffer, and should suffer.

Nah, mate, that ain't happening. Isak can't do that, he needs a rest if we want him fit. Play him all the time and he'll get injured. Every Toon fan knows this, it's not even up for debate. Rodri got injured, Saka and Haaland too, it's unsustainable. You cant overplay players.

Villa's in a right mess, and they'll probably offload Ramsey or Watkins. They'd prefer Barkley, but that's a no-go because of his age and wages, who will buy him? I totally disagree. Like I've said before, Villa's transfers aren't a good example to use on this forum. They made a killing on Duran, but still need to sell players. Their wage bill is crazy high. Over 90% to turnover So saying Barkley's not part of their financial problems is just plain wrong.

I think any striker we get knows they will be on the bench. However with CL and cup games. He will definitely start a game a week. I dont see Isak starting all games in a 9 game 21 day stretch. Will say the Same with the CM.

Okay, so if the money's there. The thing with these players is we're getting them as backups, probably on three-year deals. If the season bombs or they get hurt (like Barkley at Villa), it's a waste and we're stuck with them, meaning loans and paying half their wages. We should skip these deals right now, money's tight. Remember, we got Trippier and BDB as starters. Older players are fine if they're upgrades for the first 11, not backups. It'll end badly – we won't be able to shift them, and they'll just run down their contracts.

Agreed. Sell them both and get Ederson in along with JP makes sense, but if we are unable to move one or both, then another CM is a luxury we cant afford.

Villa want Barkley gone, by the way. I wonder who will help them there? I wonder who buys him at his wages of 3 million a year. Makes zero sense. Welbeck's at Brighton, supposedly on £60k a week. I'd rather get a high-potential player for that than a temporary fix. Doesn't make sense at this point in our project. Barkley and Welbeck because of their age are bad calls financially.

    João Pedro

Yeah, but we gotta move Willock or Longstaff first. I just think getting JP means we don't desperately need a CM. A good one that costs a bit, like Ederson. Or one with a high wage. Makes no sense. JP likes to get deep and then play it upfield, I'm sure Eddie can help him fit into our system.

    Aye, typo. I meant CAM.

We're not in Italy, where older players do well. Stay away from Welbeck and De Bruyne – high wages, injury-prone, and slow. Trippier and BDB were needed when they joined, helping us go from relegation to the Champions League, but we shouldn't sign players like that anymore. JP plays CAM, LW, and striker, so getting him means we don't need another CM unless we sell Longstaff or Willock. We just need a RW and a CB, then we're good. A new GK if the price is right and we move Dubravka or Pope.
  15. I reckon it was 'cause he had a brilliant season, got picked for England ahead of Grealish, but only played about 2 minutes the whole tournament, and didn't even get picked for games everyone was saying he should've been in. Southgate really knocked the lads confidence. Plus, nearly all the English wingers had a patchy season – Palmer, Foden, the lot. He'll be back to his best next season after a summer break. We definitely shouldn't sell him, IMO.
  16. In the last 4 years they are 7th in the Uefa rankings.
  17. Liverpool aren't paying £150m or even £120m, for Isak, no way they're spending £300m this summer! They'd be in massive PSR trouble with those wages (salah and VVD new contracts) and transfer fees. That's totally unrealistic. They'll see what happens with his contract talks; if he doesn't sign, they'll try again next summer, but if he does, forget EPL clubs, Barca's the likely spot once their stadium cash and other money comes in.

Of the penalties JP scored, how many did he win himself? It's excellent that he won many of them, which he did. It's also very good if he wins some here and Isak takes them. I think its a poor reason to knock the lad.

I've heard from trustworthy sources that he's a promising and dependable ITK/journalist, worthy of trust and belief.
  22. I don't get how anyone uses Aston Villa as an example. They pocketed at least £60 million from selling a promising young player in January and *still* need to sell someone by June? Im sure if we sold tino in January and had to sale again before June this all place would be in uproar.
  23. Okay, let's just agree to disagree. I think we'll be fine; 4th to 7th would be awesome, probably getting us into Europe, especially since we were only 6 points off 5th last time after finishing 7th, and we made the quarter-finals of both the League Cup and FA Cup. Saying we couldn't handle European football alongside the Premier League and cups, especially with Howe's first time in Europe, is nuts, IMO. I think you're being overly pessimistic. We need a more realistic approach. A measured approach to the Window staying within PSR will be beneficial to the club, and I think those running the club see it that way too. Let's agree to disagree on this.
  24. Thomas Frank new spurs manager confirmed.
  25. Liverpool could've offloaded him ages ago. They offered him a deal, but he turned it down. With only a year left, you sell him. Liverpool fans wanted him to sign, even if it wasn't what he thought he was worth, then ask to leave for Real? Think they'd have reacted differently? Wouldn't the club have priced him out of a move? As soon as Trent wanted Real, it was a no-win for him with the fans. He *had* to stay, in their eyes.
