Nah, let's not get into a wage war with Man Utd. If a Champions League spot and a solid, improving team aren't enough to attract him with in our wage structure, then fair enough, but we should at least give it a shot.
-
He wasn't just bad against Brighton, though; those sloppy passes and lack of commitment weren't tactical, mate. We all said he needed time, and there's a whole thread saying that, including you. Anyway, let's just agree to disagree.
-
We're saying Isak's the world's best striker, right? But if that's true, shouldn't he be playing Champions League and always fighting for titles? So we gotta show him he can reach his goals with us, and we can reach ours with him..
-
Check out his thread. You'll cringe at what people said about him, especially before he got banned..
-
Dude, even you said he needed more commitment back then. Let's not make things up. Tonali just wasn't good enough to start with. Like I said, it might work, it might not. We just have to trust in our management.
-
Tonali was terrible to begin with. The year out gave him time to settle.
-
Mbeumo earns about 45k a week, so I don't think fitting his wages into our budget will be an issue.
-
Yeah, 60m is about right for a top-notch RW who'll make us better. Lots of people want Akliouche, for instance, but he's going for seventy million euros. A good winger in Europe will cost at least fifty million pounds, plus there's the settling-in period – it might work, it might not. It's a tough one, really, if you're Howe. Unless we take a chance on some unknown player, but that means Murphy starts at RW next season while we wait for this new guy to get going. Which could go either way. Tough one, again. With players like Bruno, Isak, and Tonali, we gotta push harder now, or they'll walk. I get why Howe wants Premier League-level talent like Mbeumo. As safe and sound as can be.
-
Nah, I don't buy that. A winger scoring every 3.5 games in the Prem is pretty solid, and with assists factored in, that's a killer G/A ratio. He's played 98 games (not counting last season), with 22 goals and 21 assists – that's a goal or assist every two games! If he was ours, we'd definitely want more than sixty million. You can rule him out because we can't afford him, not because sixty million isn't good value.

We're not getting a new central midfielder unless we offload one, okay? Same with the goalie. Otherwise, we're staked in those positions. So, we gotta sell Longstaff or Willock for a new CM, and Dubs or Pope for a new keeper. So I don't see why we shouldn't just grab top-quality players where we really need them – RW and RCB. Then, we can buy more as we sell to upgrade other positions. We've needed a quality RW for three seasons now, let's not mess around like Arsenal did in the striker search.
-
Glad we got Champions League, otherwise, that bid would've been for Isak instead of Wirtz.
-
That's the thing. He doesn't improve us right away, he won't start over Murphy, and for around 40 to 50 million, that's a bad deal. Mbeumo starts over Murphy, making us better next season. Dibling's a prospect. For 50 million, I expect someone who makes us better immediately.
-
Dibling isn't starting for us immediately; he needs more time. Eddie's gonna try the Hall/Gordon thing – bench him more. So Murphy's starting, which could be a total mess since he might tank like Almiron last season. Dibling has potential, but we need a better RW, someone who'll actually keep Murphy on the bench. Mbeumo's our man or someone of that ilk.

Until a 200k a week contract is thrown at him.
-
He is on 150k a week atm. He will be one of our top earners.
-
Got it? Mbuemo and Guehi for 110 million, then keep Targett, Lascelles, Willock, and the rest. No total rebuild. Sell Longstaff, get a replacement. Grab DCL for free, Wilson on a pay-as-you-play, and a keeper for 30 million. That's the squad sorted. That's 140-150 million spent, only losing Longstaff really. Wouldn't surprise me if it doesn't happen this summer now Paul's gone.
-
That's the thing, though, right? This new transfer strategy might flop. It's still a gamble paying 30/40 million for Akliouche or Ben Seghir instead of 60 for Mbuemo. Getting Bruno and Botman for 30-40 million worked, but back then we weren't fighting for top 4. Now we are, so we need more seasoned players. Isak sees Mbuemo and Guehi arriving, sees we're improving and serious. It boosts the whole club. With them, we're confident about Champions League next season. We need Premier League experience now, since we're basically two signings away from a solid starting XI. Mbuemo on the right wing and Guehi at right center-back. Making it to the round of 16 or quarterfinals, and then finishing in the top 5 again? That should be good enough for PSR.
-
Yeah, I noticed most of Southgate's Euro team kinda flopped this season, didn't they? Saka wasn't great at the end, and Palmer, Foden and the rest – they didn't finish strong either. Think the guys need a break.
-
If that's his reasoning, he'll have terrible advisors. I doubt Delap would be their star striker summer signing, especially with the Champions League this season. He'd be a backup there too. But London life, a young team, playing for Chelsea, and a good contract... I bet he'd pick them over us. Honestly, most of us would in that situation.
-
And he gets that at Chelsea?
-
37 games in total. 22 in the premier league
-
Kelly and Krafth were on the bench against Southampton, and subbed in later.
-
Yeah, no way we could've kept going down that path.
-
I thought Kelly was a center back and was fit. Let's not make stuff up, mate. Surely you know if we bought Guehi, we'd need a big sale, right? That was also everyone's opinion here.
