We dont have revenue that i know of to tank 100m+net spend summer at this point. I think you need to restructure your sentence to that.
-
It seems to be realism, as they are realists. Well, that is what they will tell you.
-
Ahh yes I'm sure they will rightly point out that although the player was bought this summer, since it was announced on the 30th of June, it falls under the previous financial years accounts. My bone of contention is that if their assumptions are out by 10 to 13 million, that's huge in terms of PSR. That's an Antony Gordon and wages.

To be fair again, you first said that we need to sell someone to spend 80 million, and you showed us the calculations by @timeEd32. But then you changed your mind when you opened the thread, as you clearly said in your post. And I'm pretty sure you'll change your mind again soon. As I once said, time will tell. Look, we don't have all the info, and you're right about that. So, we can't make any solid arguments or posts on this. If someone suggests spending over 100 million, don't immediately shoot them down by saying it's unrealistic or impossible or wishful thinking, (implying you're the realist.) The calculations done by the forum accountants say we'll be close to the limit if we spend 60 million this window, but those are just assumptions since we seem and are willingto spend over 100 million. That's all I'm saying, and I think a lot of people on this forum agree with me. So let's not base them as fact to dismiss what others are saying. I can pull up your past posts to prove my point if you wish it so. if you look at the last part I put in bold, you'll see that the forum accountants and other PSR experts are the ones who complain the most about this, eg the sale of Minteh. The rest of us, who don't care too much about calculations and trust the club, accept it and want to move on. Just check the Minteh thread and you'll see what I mean. All in all, I trust the club and I trust the process. They have never given me any reason not too.

To be fair, @Unbelievable did use your calculations to say that a 100 million to 200 million spend this summer was unlikely 🤷 i guess thats Reality aye.
-
It was more closer to 100m spend, if I recall.

Add the Osula signing and that's above 100m

Great video of him, but you can see from that video some of Slot's criticism of him, heavy touch (which you will not get away with in a competitive game) and reading different match reports on the game, this showed up consistently "Was perhaps a bit guilty of not offering Veltman enough protection" (positionally unaware) He's talented and has potential, but he still needs a lot of work. You'll definitely see that in the upcoming season.
-
That seems reasonable. He would have had a preseason with us, so Eddie and his colleagues could observe his development and then send him out again closer to the deadline. However, it is overly optimistic to assume that he would eventually become our starting right winger as the season progresses. Almiron and Murphy are currently ahead of him in the pecking order. I would even go so far as to say that if he had stayed and the club said that they would not be purchasing a right winger because Minteh would fill that role, people would still argue that the right wing is our weakest area, and they would be correct. Minteh does not significantly strengthen our right wing.
-
Our team's statistics on both sides are quite similar. However, it is worth noting that our right side is more productive in terms of assists. It could be argued that Tripp's effectiveness is enhanced when Almiron is playing ahead of him, as Almiron provides good cover for Tripp.
-
It appears we have differing opinions on this matter, and it seems we will have to agree to disagree. I understand your perspective, however, I believe that keeping Minteh on the bench for most of the season without giving him playing time, especially when we do not have European competitions, would not be beneficial for his development. Additionally, I do not foresee Eddie consistently bringing him on for brief appearances ahead of Murphy, particularly if Almiron is starting or vice versa. Therefore, I maintain my stance that a loan move would have been the most suitable option for him.
-
Indeed, it is true that he lacks in scoring and assists, but it is also important to acknowledge his significant contributions to our press. He diligently covers Trippier at right back and demonstrates unwavering commitment and dedication to the team. While there is certainly room for improvement, it is unfair to dismiss his efforts entirely. With him and Murphy occupying the right wing position, we can be confident in their abilities to perform effectively during the upcoming season, especially considering the absence of European competitions.
-
Watch his performance against arsenal at home last season 😀 He may not be the ideal player, but he has shown moments of brilliance and has contributed to the team's success. While he can be frustrating at times, it would be an exaggeration to say that his presence is detrimental to the team's performance. Over the past two seasons, the team has scored more goals with him in the lineup. While an upgrade would be desirable, it is not as dire a situation as some may portray.
-
The reality is that we may not be able to acquire a new right winger unless Almiron or Murphy moves on. Without European competition, it would not be practical.
-
If Minteh had stayed, he would have likely been behind Almiron and Murphy in the pecking order for playing time this season. A loan move might have been a better option for him, as it is unlikely that he would have started ahead of our current options..
-
He loses his pace as he get older and this makes him vulnerable in one-on-one situations, as evidenced in the match against Sheffield at home. While he may be suitable for a back three formation, he is not well-suited for a back two formation as he gets older.
-
Even without the PSR Rules, we still wouldn't be able to move Almiron or Murphy. That means we'd be buying a new right winger while having two already on the books. Squad harmony and all. Just look at Chelsea.
-
In fairness, they did sell him to Sociedad for about 5 million pounds, which was much, much, much lower than his market value. So a 50% sell-on seems like a fair deal for both sides..
-
Didn't his previous club have a sell-on clause inserted? Re Minteh
-
I agree, it should also be noted that those saying Guehi is bad for PSR are the same saying we should buy a marquee RW. I guess it's really about opinions hey.
-
The deals have not yet been made public (which he did indicate were substantial), and it is already unclear how they will bridge the "PSR gap." Give it a rest lad.

A PSR talk a day keeps the transfers away.

None mate, none at all. 😆
