  1. Sorry went back to check. Hadn't seen you highlighted the squad nb, thought you were on about a new contract. So, I meant it like, even with all the chaos, the club's just keeping on like usual and aren't backing down. Like maybe what Brentford are doing with Wissa.
  2. Ornstein did say sources privy to the situation something like that, not from Isaks mouth. Thats why I think he has left room to back pedal and deny everything. The club also said he was injured thats why he didn't travel. There is room for reintegration if that happens imagine the headloss on the socials from the media and Liverpool fans..ahhhh will be a thing of beauty that.
  3. Its what the club would do i think. We have been offering him a new contract multiple times this summer which he has declined if Ornstein and co are to be believed. Only wants Liverpool
  4. I get that, however Ornstein says isak feels he has played his last game for Newcastle and wants to leave. He is desperate to go to Liverpool and only wants Liverpool.
  5. So, Isak hasn't handed in a transfer request, he's showing up to training (even if it's solo), hasnt been fined by the club and we haven't heard anything directly from him or his agent. Sounds like he's making room for a change of heart If the transfer doesnt happen. He'll probably say he was just stressed, unsettled and wasn't thinking straight. He'll blame the media for making a big deal out of nothing, deny everything, then sign a new deal and act like he's totally committed to Newcastle. The board probably asked Howe if Isak could rejoin the team, and Howe likely talked to the leadership group. I bet Howe said yes, which is why we're hearing he might stay, and be reintegrated I still think he'll stay, get a new contract, and sign it. He even got a squad number. This next couple of weeks are gonna be a drag, but lets see how it plays out. Isak and wissa with Barnes, Gordon, Murphy and elanga is some attacking depth to be fair. Quality depth. We will get CL again with that. Im confident on that.
  6. 100% agree, If he is so adamant on leaving and not playing for us he should hand in a formal transfer request.
  7. He really does, I think. He'll be up for it, too. We gotta use that to our advantage since we'll have all the power in those talks. It's a good time to lock down control over any future Isak sale on our terms. We can't miss this chance.
  8. It's all about control, yeah? We're holding off Liverpool now 'cause he's got three years left, and we're also gonna offer him a new contract 'cause he deserves it. So, we can play it tough. Isak signs with a release clause, like I said. 150 if we're in the Champions League, 130 if not. If he wants to go (and we're in the CL), they pay 150 million, simple as that. We stay in control, just like now. We protect our position. He has to sign a contract if he stays. If we dont get him to sign a new deal it's a huge screw-up, like when Mitchell bailed on talks with him last year. Seriously, a real blunder.
  9. You think Isak, on the same deal until next summer, will get us 130 million plus 10 million, like you said a while back? I really don't think so. If we don't give him a new contract, his value will tank because he'll be bummed out all year, and we'll have to sell next summer not on our terms. If he signs a new deal, we can sell him next year on our terms. Also, getting Isak to sign a new contract is crucial because we can add clauses to protect the club from a sale next summer if we do well this season, like qualifying for the Champions League, you know? Like I said, we could put in a 150 million release clause if we make it to the Champions League. If we don't, maybe 130. Like Ben Jacobs said, either Isak gets sold to Liverpool this summer for a price we like, or he signs a new deal. No other option. It's super important to protect ourselves and control whether we sell Isak, not him or another club. If we don't offer him a new contract, we lose that control.
  10. I think the club disagrees with you on that. Dont look at it from your perspective. Look at it from the clubs. As Ben said If he stays he has to sign a new deal.
  11. I did mention to you that these journalists blow with the wind. I am very interested to hear what Hope has to say about this and Ornstein too.
  12. Look, if Isak's staying, he absolutely needs to sign a new contract. Otherwise, next summer, with two years left on his current deal, we're in the same mess. He needs a 2- or 3-year deal, taking him to 2030, with a release clause for foreign and English clubs, and a deadline (June 30th, in my opinion) if we don't get Champions League, and so on. If he stays on the same terms, we're screwed next summer. We'd have to sell to get the most money as the window closes. He needs to sign a new deal, simple as that.
  13. Like I've said a bunch of times, I still reckon Isak's sticking around. I don't think we'll take 130 plus 10, that'd be weak. We'll want a full 150m package or more to show strengh. Surely we dont let it play out this long just to fold to Liverpool. Romano said a player will go on strike if there's a option (Liverpool in this case.) Once that's gone, Isak'll have to suck it up for Howe (bend the knee). He'll say sorry to the team and try to make it up to the fans on the pitch. I still reckon Liverpool won't pay what we want. I could be wrong, but it feels unlikely. Their play is Isak keeps it up (striking), we cave, and they can lowball us. It just depends if we cave, which is looking unlikely, hence the Ben Jacobs non update.
  14. That's the thing, right? Just because we'd take 150 doesn't mean he's up for grabs. Real Madrid might offer 170m for Tonali tomorrow. We'd probably take it. But that doesn't mean Tonali's on the market. It's gotta be an offer we can't turn down.
  15. Nah, he's not. We told Liverpool, "Nope" and that was that, no other offers or anything. I'd take 150, but the club might not. That's just how it is, based on what's happened so far. Isak's not going anywhere.
  16. I reckon the club doesn't need to personally. Liverpool, if you believe the journos, were surprised we said no to their bid, with no counter or set price, so they wont bid and will wait until, like Romano says, we "open the door" for them. Thats as close as to saying not for sale as you like. Do you think the board will pay attention to all the Twitter drama and stuff from IndyK? Should they say something about what Romano is saying? I dont think clubs do that. Isak's not for sale, but if Liverpool bids 150 or more, then he's gone. It's really that simple.
  17. I really don't think so. If we'd gotten JP or Ekitike/Sesko, we wouldn't have gone for Wissa. We only went for Wissa after Ekitike turned us down. Then, when Wissa looked iffy (Brentfords high demand £50m) we went for Sesko. The reason Isak's acting up is because the club told Liverpool and Isak's people he's not for sale this summer. So, he's trying to force our hand by causing trouble. Edwards is right, the club told Isak he's staying and won't be sold to Liverpool. Why else would he do this? Why would Isak rebel if it was about us getting a replacement or Liverpool ponying up £150m. This is why i feel If we had JP or Sesko or Wissa, we'd know we could start the season with a decent forward, whilst dealing with Isak. Again based on what Isak's doing and Romano's vague stuff, Isak was told he's not going anywhere this summer since Liverpool asked about his availability (the informal offer) hence why he through a hissy fit and got sent home from the Celtic game. Eddie's not gonna say Isak's not for sale until the board says it, right? He'd look dumb if he said it, and then Isak was gone two weeks later. So don't take Eddie's words at face value, he's just playing it safe. For now, we can assume Isak's been told he's staying put.
  18. So, what Luke's saying kinda lines up with what the other reporters have been saying, right? Romano on YouTube said we offered Isak a new contract earlier this week, and he turned it down, but also said Isak could stay, 'cause, you know, Romano can't predict the future. Ben and his talk sport crew also said Liverpool won't bid again, just like Luke pointed out. They were told Isak's not for sale. I did say this isn't as simple as everyone thinks. That scene from The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly comes to mind. Like a three-way standoff. Look, either Liverpool pays what we think he's worth, or they can forget it. That's the kind of attitude I want our board to have. We won't be pushed around by a rival, an agent, or the player himself.
  19. Honestly, I'm so confused about what's going on with Isak. I just don't get it, where did it all go wrong? This guy was a club legend, well, not anymore. His celebration after scoring in the final is iconic. We were comparing him to Shearer, some even thought he'd be better, and now he's being compared to Owen? It's crazy. We all knew he'd leave eventually, and we were okay with it. But this? It just feels wrong. If he stays, I'll be happy and sing his praises, I'll forgive him, but I won't forget. I'd rather he just leave. Get Wissa and Watkins as a temporary fix while we find the next big star. Isak broke my heart. It's not because he's leaving, I knew that was coming, but the way he did it and the club he wants to join, ugh. I bet some of the other players and Eddie feel the same. Newcastle's gonna have a killer season, I reckon. They'll win another trophy, make the Champions League again, and maybe even go to the quarter-finals this time. Eddie's totally gonna pull this off, you know it. It would be soooo Eddie to do it. Lets use all this negative energy as fuel.
  20. You're missing the whole picture, I think. The plan was to buy those players, get Isak to sign with a release clause and a deadline, like Bruno's. That way, we'd be fine. The new strikers could spend the season with Howe, get up to speed, and then replace Isak. Like I told you last night. If Isak was on the market this summer, why didn't we say yes when we bid for Ekitike and Liverpool asked about isak? We could've just gone for Ekitike as a replacement and sold Liverpool Isak. Liverpool only went in for Ekitike when we rejected their enquiring. Isak threw a fit a few days after we turned down Liverpool. You talk about logic, but you're clearly missing what actually happened, which doesn't fit your view. If Isak was for sale, wouldn't we have Ekitike now, and Liverpool with Isak? L Can you explain that to me?
  21. Again a cf was always on the list. When we went for JP why didnt the same sources say JP was a Isak replacement? Why didnt Romano/Hope say this? As i said. Its their opinions not fact. The club has never stated their position. We bid for Delap, then JP, then Ekitike. Why didn't anyone say, "These are Isak replacements" back then? The same sources "knew" Isak was leaving ages ago. Come on, it's obvious the story changed. Media bs.
