    The Other 18

Every week I see Arsenal fans making a big deal out of things that never gets given to any team. Another one: This literally happens all the time, even after the rule change. They only blow the whistle after 15+ sec. Only Arsenal fans will measure the time and complain if it's 9-10 sec.
  2. Would be a miracle if Wolves stay up. Will be Burnley, Wolves and Leeds to go down imo.
  3. It's almost like letting them spend pretty much whatever they want is actually a bad things for them. Not entirely, but almost. They are so chaotic with transfers.

Aren't they losing 9 players to AFCON? Wait, will the lose players for our game or not? I'm sure it has been covered. "However, there is a possibility that some players will leave early for the tournament ahead of the Gameweek 16 fixtures."
  5. Allright, lets use output. As you wish. For simplicity, lets go by Premier League output since 22/23 when both joined their new club. Trossard 5773 minutes 23 goals, 251 min per goal 22 assists, 262 min per assist 128 min per g/a Gordon 6296 minutes 18 goals, 350 min per goal 21 assists, 300 min per assist 161 min per g/a If we include Brighton and Everton days, Gordon is at 208 min per g/a, and Trossard 171 min per g/a. I could go on. Hope this clears things up for you.
  6. Took -8 for this in gameweek 9. Completely ruined my momentum. If I had just rolled I would have way more points now.
  7. Arsenal should be in for Gordon then, we could get a massive fee. Nice.
  8. What do you mean? I said that back then aswell.
  9. A couple of weeks ago some people in here thought that Gordon is a better player than Trossard when comparing the squads. Football fans are a biased bunch, aren't they?
  10. They don't even need to play this way with the team that they have. They could be smashing everyone with a good manager.
  11. Mbuemo was a great signing. No fancy stuff, just gets the ball into the net. They've really needed that sort of player. I'd much rather have Mbeumo than Wirtz for nearly double the price.
  12. Scored by accident, celebrated like crazy.
  13. Now he needs another 2-3 months of getting back into fitness. Just in time for the groin to start acting up again.

    Yoane Wissa

We will never know, but fatigue means that your muscles an ligaments offer less stability, and as such those types of occurences can inflict more damage than what they otherwise would, while also slowing down your reaction time such as when he started losing his balance. All of this can be the difference between just being in pain and actually getting injured. Your body is simply more susceptible to damage. Not saying he would never have been injured if he was fit there, but it could still have been the deciding factor for the injury.

Why? If you read the thread, I think you would rather take pelters for saying the opposite. I agree that it should be mainly his choice, as most seem to agree with.

They will just pick him anyways, and play him 90 min every game. We need to get him in shape fast, as they will run him to the ground and have him be injured again. They won't care.

    Dan Burn

I can't see it in my location, but here it is, I guess.

Anyone has the clip of him on the bench showing Schär how he attacked the ball with his head?
  19. I mean, in his first 2 seasons he did exceptionally well, and I have no doubts he could have attracted interest from other clubs if he wanted out. People often forget how good or consistent players were more than 1 year ago, unless it involved lots of goals. Lets also not forget that he has started many times over some other excellent midfielders for Brazil. Noone knows what would've happened if he was offered a contract by a top team, but atleast he never pushed for a transfer. Just to refresh your memory, here are some stats from the 23/24 season, when we struggled through an injury crisis: https://www.premierleague.com/en/news/3961571 He was top 3 of midfielders in PL in several metrics. Nr. 1 in chances created per 90, for instance. I'm sure the story for 22/23 was the same, or even better.

I would be so excited to see a 4-2-3-1, with Wolte behind Wissa, and Tonali + Bruno behind him. I don't think Howe has ever played that formation with us, though? He loves his flat 3. Could see it being a 4-4-2 with Wolte and Wissa up top, and that would kind of be the same thing. I think we have tried the 4-4-2 one or two times.
  21. His passing and offensive play in general (energy, pace etc) has declined. However I'm often surprised at his defensive actions this season. He uses his experience to read how the wingers will try to go past him. Compensates for the lack of pace with intelligence. This part of the game actually looks improved, but maybe that's just becuase he doesn't have he responsibility of being everywhere anymore, and rather be more focused on defending.
  22. Bruno is a rare thing in todays football. Absolute legend. In general that type of loyalty isn't expected anymore. The quotes from Tonali aren't surprising, and I don't blame him either.

Apart from the lack of service and proper fullbacks, he doesn't look like the fastest runner. It's not mandatory for a striker to be lightning quick, but when he drops so deep, it will take him time to get into good scoring positions from the deep when we attack with our very fast wingers. He will score a good bunch of headers for us anyways, no doubt. Can't wait to see what happens when our fullbacks and/or Wissa is back, that should help aswell.

Not sure about 5 at the back. We've looked pretty bad with that formation this season.
