I don’t think it’s market trends holding up the Mbuemo deal. I think it’s Brentford looking at Man Utd’s previous splurges and rightfully saying we want our piece of that pie. They’ll look at it and say “well you’ve spent much more money on worse players than Bryan in the past, so cough up”. They spent £80m on Antony so Brentford should be asking for something north of that.

FINALLY! Just got back from 6 a side so great news to come back to. Last time I did that I went thinking Remy was in the bag, check my phone after playing and find out he’s signed for QPR.

There’s a real, to quote Jamaal Lascelles, “no one gives a fuck” attitude at that club. A fearful malaise has taken hold which has turned into apathy. Man Utd aren’t that bothered about losing anymore. It used to rile them up. They lost and you knew the next team they played were getting a pasting but that’s long gone. When Mbuemo has been there a few weeks (assuming he signs ‘cause it’s just as likely he stays at Brentford currently), he’ll get sucked into it as well. He’ll turn up, see what he’s fighting against and then take the easy way out by putting in 4/10 performances, maybe show up in the big games, and he’ll pick up his massive massive wage. They’re in a death spiral headed by the complete clown they begged to take them over.

That’s the assumption. But it’s been the assumption for the last ten years.

Says they “were unwilling to entertain any discussions over a possible price for the 21-year-old”. Told us to get fucked.

Mbuemo is better than Elanga, if he’s at Brentford. Not at Man Utd.
