As much as I hate to agree with him, but Froggy is right on this one...we have probably agreed to pay the same amount of wages as them hence why he has verbally given the thumps up to both of us. He may 'prefer' Man Utd but that doesn't mean he isn't more than happy to come here if we get a bid accepted and they don't. Do you think Tonali or Isak would have come to us in the first place if Man Utd, Liverpool or Chelsea also bid? Doesn't stop them from joining and becoming integral parts in our development.

Every single player we have attempted to sign this window is attainable and would have happily joined. Just because they have ended up elsewhere doesn't mean they wouldn't have signed for us. Going after top players runs the risk of this happening but if we didn't go after top players in the first place we never would have signed Bruno, Tonali or Isak.

Just give them the 10 million add on's up front if we want him so badly. Can't see them accepting Man Utd's bid if they are getting 10m up front more from us.

Annoyed that Isak will be going to Liverpool but after the way he has acted...fuck him, no player is bigger than the club. If we bring in Sesko and Wissa as replacements for Isak and Wilson I would like to think that the two combined would score more Premier League goals than Isak and Wilson got combined last season so it isn't all doom and gloom and there would theoretically be plenty in reserve to get a proper centre back and central midfielder in to really enhance the squad. Sometimes they sign annyway and then get loaned to Belgium/Netherlands to get the required experience etc to enable them to get a work permit. Think Brighton do that a lot

Agree with this, all looked promising and as we have a small squad we need to give some youngsters a chance. Will be annoyed next year when we have three keepers on the bench and some of these aren’t even in the squad!

Three really good things he did there. First the way he pressed Spence albeit gave away a free kick is what Howe expects from a winger. Secondly, the way he slowed the game down to give Bruno more space to get a decent shot away. Finally, the cross on his right foot was very dangerous. Been impressed with him, hopefully gets on next weekend at SJP and not just coming on because it’s his home country.

Disappointing second half in that it never got going due to the subs and Son taking forever to come off. Thought we were decent overall. Shame Park plays in the position we are well stocked in because he looks very good and would love to see him get some chances next season.

Was saying it last season but in games where we are expected to dominate the ball it should be Miley instead of Joelinton. Could be a big year for him just needs confidence of playing more regularly

Good half. Desperately need a new centre back with pace (we all knew this anyway). Miley is such a good player, want him to take some more risks further forward though. Gordon looking good but we need a ST as soon as possible whether that’s Isak reintegrated or a new one signed.

No change really from the other games so far. Neat and tidy at times, but no cutting edge, ridiculously slow at the back and Pope needs to be benched for Ramsdale. Bruno looks as good as he has ever done for me this pre season

Yeah the non PL release clause is the obvious move, put it in to be activated before 30th June and spend freely this summer in the knowledge that he will probably go in this financial year. Saying that, he will probably get injured or have a shit season, nobody will want him and we will end up having a PSR flap again
