I would imagine we put out a number of enquiries on Monday once we thought that Ekitike was a no go and Wissa and Sesko are two of them (hence why there is noise in the media). Doesn't mean either one is our first choice yet, just putting feelers out.
-
Yeah they asked for £50m from Forest which is far too much for his age. Would be ok with this if he was £35/40m max, but think they’ll try and milk us for more and anymore would be too much for me

Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

They will probably wait to see who we bid for next and try and do the same again, constant cock blocking! -

Disappointed to miss out on Ekitike but we look like we are going to keep Isak which is the most important thing, especially knowing that this is likely the case with well over a month left of the transfer market. Liverpool fans are insufferable on Twitter, thinking that they have 'bullied' us. If anyone has bullied anyone it is us, as we have ensured that they don't get Isak now and probably don't next year even though he was there number one target. Would love Sesko if that deal is possible, if not maybe someone like Kalimuendo with more money spent elsewhere. I believe in our recruitment and know that we will get it right. -

That was how I read it before people interpreted it differently. Can't imagine him saying no to Liverpool if they had a bid accepted now because he wants to play for Newcastle and nobody else. Must be mistranslated. -

He is meant to be but the tweet yesterday about Isak was bizarre (£86m bid from Liverpool). He is the main Sky Sports guy so I assume they play by similar rules to our Sky Sports who are normally pretty accurate. Edit: Hopefully he has better knowledge of Ekitike as it involves a German club. -

There will be a tweet in the next hour from Romano/Ornstein with an update on Ekitike I reckon. -

Won't believe a thing until eintr8insider confirms it. -

What a transfer window, back on because an account with 600 followers has tweeted to say it’s happening 😂 -

Yeah this gets settled one way or another in the next few days. For some reason, I think we get him! -

Hopefully Galatasaray and Napoli continue to struggle to strike a deal for Osimhen for now. As soon as that is agreed you would imagine they would quickly agree a deal for Nunez and then Liverpool may look to Ekitike. Get the deal done before then! Although saying that, surely Liverpool jump in if they really want him anyway and assume that they will sell Nunez further down the line. -
Agreed, I think we would have moved the Almiron sale forward 6 months and gone with Murphy and Minteh as our RW options.

Depressing end to the weekend this

Who is on co comms in the Chelsea game? He’s painful!
-
On the subject of Petrovic, he is Chelsea’s best goalkeeper in my opinion. Found it very odd they shipped him out on loan and put their faith in Sanchez
-
Don’t tend to watch new signing interviews and videos much because it just seems to be dull scripted bollocks but this guy is something else. His attitude has got me massively on board with this signing, very excited to see him play!
-
Can imagine us being behind in said friendly and having to finish the game Alan Shearer testimonial style…nothing to see here!
-
Would just leave us short in midfield, especially if we got two mid to long term injuries which is possible with Miley and Joelinton. We will probably have to settle for a cheaper option to Ekitike.
-
In: Trafford Scalvini Gallagher Elanga Ekitike Out: Dubravka Longstaff Yes I know we can't afford that and it won't happen, but we can dream!
-
Gallagher would be a brilliant signing. Different players but I would put him as an 'equal' to Joelinton in the pecking order so would get plenty of minutes, especially with the amount of injuries Joelinton is starting to pick up.
-
Probably deserves it but Elanga is built for games like Villa away so if he settles well in pre-season I would want the front three of Gordon, Isak and Elanga for games like that where the counter against a high line could well be on
-
Was going to say something similar. Lovely football, a top bloke as a manger and some really likeable attacking players (mainly Kvaratskheila and Doue)
-
Not a chance we are in for Ekitike at the price quoted or that he would come here over the other options he will have. Can see him at Liverpool once they sell Nunez
-
This will be a bad move if we don’t shift him. Hopefully this is because we are confident we can get more, because we need to get better at selling players and this could be huge for PSR
-
Thanks for all the goals but it was time to go!
