My main issue with Joelinton is his lack of ability (at times) on the ball in the centre of midfield so the LW/occasional CM/ocassional LWB role suits him so much. Means we get all the qualities of Joelinton without that nervousness of him being a little careless on the ball in dangerous places. Thought he was fantastic today and it was great to see a return to what we did so well two seasons ago!

Fantastic performance. His pass out to Gordon for the goal may look simple but it was perfect and had to be to enable Gordon to put in the perfect cross. Perfect weight on the pass and no bobble at all! I criticise him a lot but buzzing for him and hopefully he can keep it up, defensive work was sensational

I want something easier (Southampton, Palace or Brentford) but would take anyone at home to be honest. Liverpool at home wouldn’t be bad, they’re resting a lot and it gives us chance to knock them out instead of getting them over two legs or at Wembley when they would be at full strength

Joelinton - Isak - Gordon Willock - Tonali - Bruno

Tonali should play in the centre going forward with Bruno to the side. We need Bruno to be free and Tonali looks so much better in the middle

Nice to see Osula having a go at Tino there, not shy. He is going to be a great player I think

No need to be rude, it is just opinions. I rate Joelinton very highly but would like to see how the above midfield would work. Also more than happy to see how Joelinton - Tonali - Bruno would work. Also, for me, we lost a lot because we took Tonali off when he was, in my opinion, our best player.

I think Tonali looked decent playing deepest. Maybe we could have Tonali central and release Bruno further forward. Would like to see a midfield three of Willock - Tonali - Bruno at some point.

Wanted this last game but change things up to a 4-2-3-1. Tonali and Bruno as central midfielders and Gordon playing off Isak with Barnes and some other fucker on the wings. Get some players in attacking positions

Tonali is clearly one of our best players and has that star quality. Problem for me is that the tactics don’t suit him. He ends up on the right wing but he needs to be central at all times for me, preferably doing his little first time passes in between the defence and midfield
