I do think our rigid wage structure only paying 150K a week max means that transfer sagas like this will happen most seasons. If he goes to Man U or Arsenal he will likely increase salary by 50%

I think the competition would be good for the new signings we get over the summer especially the younger players. Also giving game time to Neave and other youngsters. Chelsea won the competition with just their kids only going full strength for final.

Fatigue is a massive factor for the increase in errors but I do think at times his body position is suspect, like his tendency to show the attacker to his right.

My take on the game. 1st half great energy and breaking the lines. Elanga coming in from the right wing was a major positive from the game 3 mistakes for all their goals in the 1st half. Second half performance was linked to fatigue and lack of leadership. Unfortunately no way you can play 100 mph every game with the limitations in our squad due in part to injuries and quality in the squad. We need reset in the summer in terms of squad but I think Eddie is the man to do this.

Our identity under Howe is 90 mins of high intensity but playing over 50 games this season with key players out, we tire after 45 minutes of this style. We need to adapt our identity and style but this needs a good summer window, tactical flexibility and time spent on the training ground. This can't be understated is that we probably only have a day or two training in-between games with the schedule as it is and Howe is unable to implement new style of play.

With no DOF and a limited scouting network, I am sure after missing out on the first 10 targets or so they were desperate. Wolte would sell for close to what we paid but Wissa and Elanga probably only half what we paid at best.

We have no creativity in midfield without Bruno so Howe has experimented with him there but it hasn't really worked. Today no real other midfield options so had to play. Big Joe needed a rest.
