  1. exactly this Semenyo was already eliminated from the cup with Bournemouth, why should he get a second crack at it? it's a bs rule change imo the league is different, there's 38 games for everyone and generally no player that moves is going to play more than 38 league game
  2. I've yet to see any explanation as to why the rule was changed it will primarily benefit the clubs who can usually spend big in January so guessing it was at the request of the cartel clubs
  3. got injured just as he was getting really good and making an impact off the bench typical
  4. agree maybe better to play him more away from home just to get crowd off his back needs confidence

    Yoane Wissa

Isak missed a hatful of easy one v ones last year frustrating as it is I've seen enough to think he has a lot to offer

    Joelinton

as much as I like his.enforcer role I do think he needs to calm down because he seems to be walking a yellow card tightrope almost every time he plays sooner or later it'll be red and it'll cost us Bruno used to do it too but became much more disciplined when he got to 9 yellows and has never looked back
  7. bit of a joke he's allowed to play for City in the cup SF another rule change that will only really benefit the biggest clubs

    Nick Pope

he's a club legend but I think he's been riding his luck lately and making too many basic errors Ramsdale got hammered for less which I thought was unfair it's such a tough position though, not sure too many clubs are much better off
  9. clearly not at his best and subbed off again however he did well to stop Joelinton getting himself sent off which really saved us from falling apart cool head
  10. no that was a 5-3 defeat another painful one they all make tonight all the sweeter
  11. this is unfortunately wrong Newcastle led 3 times at Old Trafford in 2012 before losing 4-3 in injury time
  12. assuming Semenyo will be cup tied for City against us next week after playing in LC for Bournemouth this season?
  13. their top scorer last season with 18 goals and Spurs fans happy to get rid of Johnson? sound like a bunch of entitled twats 35 mil does make Elanga seem like a massive overpay, can't seem him getting close to 18 goals
  14. all about the cup final for me there was so much doom and gloom here leading up to it, myself included - fully expected to lose and just wanted it to be done with especially when it became apparent we'd be without our first choice left side in Hall and Gordon, both of whom had been playing really well together and with our patchy form both legs of the semi final masterclass against Arsenal seemed like a distant memory Liverpool were huge favourites going into it we battered them and should've won by more nothing will ever beat that

he was costing us points a lot before his injury so hopefully the break he's had will do him good don't think he was anything special last night, a couple of standard saves agree he got lucky a couple of times and Ramsdale would've been slated for the goal conceded
  16. have defended him a lot but that miss where he skied it over after Bruno played him in really sums up his finishing lately he just needed a bit of composure to place it surely that's something he should be working on in training overall I think he's mostly good but that was another awful miss
  17. any update on his fitness? or will this become like Osula and we don't see him again for weeks
  18. were Dalot and Sesko chances both offside? too painful to watch back is Sesko the next Hoijland?
  19. I think one of Howe's biggest strengths is working with players on the training ground and improving them over time this requires a lot patience which is hard to come by in the modern game his biggest problem is having to play tough games every 3-4 days for a large part of the season, which results in very little meaningful time on the training ground that is a direct consequence of his success in getting us into the CL and progressing to another LC SF there's no easy solution for him but I don't think any potential replacement would fare much better in the medium to long term under current circumstances (PSR constraints, not being able to hold onto best players etc)
  20. I think a draw would have been a fair result at OT if penalty was given or Barnes squares it to Wissa etc, fine margins I don't think MU would feel they were the best team and deserved more BBC and Livescore stats show Newcastle shaded the xG xG varies depending where you look so I guess fans choose whichever one best fits their take on the game MU dug deep and scored a good goal but they were not the better team not saying we were good but we've played a lot worse than that and come away with points it was a plucky underdog victory they should feel proud about that's just football, happens all the time
  21. games we should have taken points from this season all against the sky 6 less City Liverpool +1 at least (we battered them despite over half the game with 10 men) Arsenal +1 (they were the better team but we were robbed a stonewall pen at 1-1) Spurs +2 (we dominated the whole match and they managed to score with their only two efforts on target, the second quite flukey) Chelsea +2 (battered them first half and robbed by the ref on numerous occasions) Man U +1 at least (we were clearly superior to them and dominated mist of game but probably didn't deserve more than a draw given failure to work their keeper) we should be looking for 12 points from our next 4 league games which would hopefully see us surge up the table what's so frustrating is it feels like Liverpool, Chelsea and MU have all been shite this season and still occupy the top 6 fair play to Villa for challenging the established order
  22. Chelsea are a weird team and often better away from home we do have a good home record against them under Howe, but I don't think that will count for much unless we play very well and the crowd are up for it they were able to make 11 changes in midweek for a routine win so should be much fresher than us and have a better squad they're bookies favourites to win which I'd say is about right given how stretched we are now with defensive injuries I'd probably be happy with a draw, even though it doesn't really help us in the league
  23. remember this ridiculous 2 booking rule kept Bruno out of last year's SF first leg at Arsenal such a fucking dumb and annoying rule for everyone, can't understand why it's so harsh
