  1. I'd be more confident about beating City at home if we didn't have Bournemouth in the FA Cup a couple of days prior the fixture list in January is insane squad needs reinforcements pronto
  2. MU being decent again doesn't bode well for our next away game ffs
  3. Kluivert seems to have really dropped off since his ridic hat-trick at SJP

    Harvey Barnes

dare I say he played well against Spurs and Burnely recently (apart from the simple task of converting those pens) I think some people just like focusing on negatives and having scapegoats all well and good calling our players turbo shit and scouse cunts if that helps

    Harvey Barnes

even if Gordon had started the final and won, I doubt that would somehow make his scousness more redeemable for some here on current form

    Harvey Barnes

11 months including a summer break, as well as a few injuries and suspensions not great but some important contributions in the CL and LC but sure just focus on all the negatives

    Harvey Barnes

I'd say every winger we've had in the history of the club has been inconsistent at best it was the same with Ginola, Gillespie, Robert, HBA, ASM now Gordon and Barnes they've all gotten pelters in their time here only Gordon regualarly gets called a 'scouse cunt' though, as if being from Liverpool is a crime
  8. this is a massive game imo - any kind of win please hope the crowd are more up for it
  9. do we have another big game this week by any chance?
  10. surprised there's no match thread for the QF Fulham game yet as reiging champions I thought we had more time for this competition
  11. I wouldn't call the performance unprofessional just because they played badly, that is just football also Sland to be fair have shown they are a decent side, unbeaten at home, 7th in the table, won at Chelsea, also taking points off Arsenal and nearly winning at Anfield losing at their place by one flukey goal is very disappointing but hardly a disgrace they played like it was their cup final and only playing one game a week probably tipped the balance in their favour a 0-0 draw would've been a fairer reflection of the game and not a bad result
  12. hands up I'm not from the region so this fixture has never meant much to me I can understand why it means so much to people in the region of course but I don't understand why fans expect players who are multimillionaires and who aren't from the region (many of whom are from different countries and before this season probably barely aware of Sunderland's existence) to really care about the derby they'll be told how much it means to the fans etc and they might try harder in front of their own fans, they'll say all the right things etc but deep down I think they probably don't care much and never will - they're far more interested in playing CL games and glamour fixtures against much bigger clubs than Sland hopefully we smash them at SJP
  13. just to add they had a whole week to prepare for it while we had a really tough game in Germany not entirely excusing the lack of quality on show today but I do think it plays a big part
  14. lost to a team that's really difficult to play against especially in front of their fans I am very disappointed with today's result and performance but it's basically their cup final and doesnt change that much for us we still have a lot to play for this season
  15. seems like he only gets some faint or grudging praise when he plays well now but not much love guessing that's to do with the two red cards, Liverpool links and general perception of him here before he signed he was fantastic last night in the second half, took the game by scruff of the next and almost won it for us would be great if he could add more consistency to his game, certainly wouldn't be selling
  16. he's been available for most games this season? and he only came back last season from a long term injury (ACL) wouldn't call him a crock just yet
  17. we played quite well and were by far the superior team so v frustrating not to win penalty was soft but technically correct imo - they should be given more often to cut that out some poor finishing and slack defending at the end cost us but that's football, happens to all teams quite regularly Spurs took their goals well but seem to have more issues than we do right now at least - they were completely abject for the most part will be disappointed if they finish above us
  18. surprised it took so long for this thread to be bumped (guess he's still not too popular here) he did great tonight
  19. if we win we win ugly think it'll be a horrible game probably decided by a set piece winning here would be more surprising than beating City at home draws don't help us but would take a 0-0

    Nick Pope

he's costing us too many goals for sure I would say directly responsible for 3 defeats this season we have lots of other problems in the team which aren't helping obv (scoring goals, giving the ball away cheaply etc) unless he's so much better than Ramsdale in training I don't understand why Pope has become undroppable
  21. if Howe were to leave in the next couple of years (I really hope not), I think De Zerbi would be a strong contender to succeed him adjusting to the change in style under him could be difficult but think he's a really good manager who would do well at a bigger club

    Harvey Barnes

Barnes' top 10 goals for us so difficult to choose from 1. Wham 4-3 winner 2. Wolves 1-2 winner 3. City 1-0 4. Luton 4-4 5. Benfica 2-0 6. MU 3-1 7. USG 0-4 8. Benfica 3-0 9. City 2-1 winner 10. Villa 5-1 honourable mentions to the 3-3 equaliser against Wham and the tight angle left foot strike against Palace
