Thought he took the goal well. Harder finish than it looked.
-
Would he start for any other team in the Premier League?
-
Much better second half performance. We lose that last season. Get a point instead of losing is 22/23 form. Hopefully a strong finish to the transfer window and bring on Spursy.
-
Bruce-esque performance and tactics so far. Still time to sort it out.
-
Their owner is on the way out and will be buying Everton. That’s one of the reasons why I think Guehi gets done at our price, but with a bigger cash payment up front.
-
I don’t think many people will be disappointed if we pull out from this one.
-
The return of Premier League football - bring it on! Feels like this is needed after all the drama over nothing transfer window. 3-1 win.
-
Aren’t most clubs already near the 70% with wages to turnover ratio, and if amortisation is now included surely this screws up a lot of other clubs as well? Same as removing allowable losses… In my simple mind, Champions League brings a lot of revenue so aim is to push for that. If we don’t achieve then we’re likely to see a big player being sold before the 30th June cut off next year.
-
How do add-ons work when it comes to PSR. Are they all added to amortisation numbers like the transfer fee, or added when they’re achieved just over a shorter period of the remaining contract? Or something else?
-
Agreed. Especially when he says something along the lines “if one is to leave then it’ll be him”. I still think this one gets done.

The article includes the friendlies from this weekend, Southampton home then doubtful for Bournemouth and midweek league cup game. Not sure anything really has changed.
-
Eddie has said himself he’s in daily meetings to discuss transfers. I think this window is about patience and waiting for opportune moments/deals and perform due diligence. Last thing we want is another Tonali situation.

Our ownership without Howe will be successful. Howe without our ownership structure then we won’t be successful. Hopefully Howe stays but if not then so be it. We’ll move on and still be successful. The model being built by the club is bigger and more important than the manager.

Amanda and Mehrdad deserve our thanks but they just didn’t have enough equity to continue. Can only be seen as a positive that PIF have purchased the majority of their shares.
-
Merino header! Reminds me of Palace at home.
-
Same season but the winner at home to Wolves. On a low following cup final, but scraped a win and never looked back. Worst memory - Milan at home this season, missing an open goal as wouldn’t use right foot.
-
I think it means… £15m added to amortisation line equates to spending £75m this summer on new signings. To be PSR compliant we would then need to sell £17m worth of players (e.g. a Wilson or Almiron). If we sell more or bring in more commercial revenue then we can spend more.
-
Maybe the Anderson transfer was an offer too good to turn down. Worst case figures from people like Swiss Ramble had us needing £40m so hopefully the Anderson plus Minteh gives us £30m more profit than needed… I have no idea to be honest. But if we were ready to drop £60m on Olise then you’d like to think there’s a decent chunk of money available to spend.

Subs happen while the game continues
-
Southgate is insane
-
Wouldn’t be surprised if someone like Anderson still leaves tomorrow.
-
Totally agree - supporters have been nothing but positive so far, but if this happens then expect significant backlash. Competence of those running the club will rightly be questioned.
-
We would need to sell him for £70m to £80m to make a decent enough profit to affect PSR. Convinced this is paper talk however if not the club have hugely messed up.

100%. It’s hard to judge these potential signings until the window is finished. As a squad player, I’d rather have Elanga over Anderson.
