I’m sure he kissed the ball before swinging in a corner. Is there much more he needs to achieve before he gets a statue?

Said already, but we are such a better team with Livramento and Hall. Hopefully we pick up another full back in January to add cover. Ramsdale’s distribution over Pope makes us look a lot more solid as well. Brilliant result and cheers to an away win!

Has to be dropped for Saturday - no excuses. He’s currently a liability.
-
Strong second half please!

Hope it’s 5 at the back just avoid Burn playing lb

Pointless having a squad unless you’re going to use it. I’d go: Pope, Livramento, Botman, Thiaw, Burn, Bruno, Tonali, Ramsey, Elanga, Woltemade, Gordon. I think Elanga and Ramsey both need time on the pitch from the start.

Man Utd still so easy to play through. Be hugely disappointed if we finish below them this season.

From what I’ve seen I don’t think anyone is calling for his sacking. Just sharing worries after a few awful performances. I think we have two core issues 1) pressing game isn’t as strong with Big Nick up top and 2) confidence in our defence with Pope having wobbles and Burn (at left back) being a liability. Both of those make us very easy to play against. I think Howe solves both of those when Wissa and Hall return.

How much more hindsight does Howe need that Burn is a liability defensively at left back. Three years of hindsight not enough?

Bruce levels of competence shown in the last few games. - sticking with his favourites - same formation - reactive subs - making lots of changes at the same time causing confusion What is going on? Expecting something different when doing the same things repeatably…

Nice. Even better that he’s chosen over Trafford because he’s getting game time.

Why do Liverpool boo the champions league anthem? Victim complex?

No Williams brothers?

We’re 13th after a quarter of the season and I think that’s a fair position for us. Big improvements needed. But today felt like Brentford or Fulham away last season. We had Bournemouth and Luton the season before. There’s still time to turn this around…

Players deserve to be given a few home truths at full time. No good enough. I can only think illness is impacting performance, otherwise this is the worst I’ve seen us play in a long time.

Awful by Pope

Yeah, I thought it was Brentford. Makes no sense rushing him back for that when we have a two-week international break straight after.

Great read. Love this segment… ”Then we played Leicester City at home, and for me this was probably when I fell in love with Newcastle. I scored the two goals in the match, and they could not have been more different — more me. The first one was a goal from the streets of Rio. The keeper bobbled the ball when he fell on it, and I didn’t hear the whistle, so I just kept kicking and kicking until it popped out of his hands and rolled across the line. And then the second goal, in the 95th minute.... All I can tell you is that, when the Newcastle fans are really on fire, like they were that day, you simply don’t get tired. I don’t know the science behind it, but you can just keep running forever.”

Can’t wait to see a Tino - Thiaw - Botman - Hall defence. If it’s as good as hoped then that could be our defence for 3 or 4 years.

I still have takeover trauma when hearing the word imminent

Close to a return now according to Howe.
