  1. It's pretty obvious. He's been swayed. He wants out. He wants Newcastle to consider Liverpool's offer.
  2. Which European teams can afford him? No Serie A club. No Bundesliga club. Bayern couldn't top Liverpool for Wirtz and struggling to come up with funds for Diaz. No La Liga club. Real don't need him. Barca can't afford him. Couldn't afford Williams or Diaz. Only PSG but they're not in the market for a forward. Chelsea have Jackson, Delap, Pedro. Arsenal have signed Gyokeres. Only Liverpool. They're about to release several forwards: Nunez, Diaz, Chiesa, Doak and they no longer have Jota.
  3. It's obviously come from the club. Someone that close to the club doesn't need to say that.
  4. His plan B, C, D will be inferior players. A sporting director would prep several similar profiles, know the asking price, and the manager could take his pick from them. Now we're scrambling. Leaving it late in the window means overpaying and not usually first choice picks.
  5. Exactly this. I remember Eddie wanting Solanke, Ibe and Smith when at Bournemouth from Liverpool and he paid a lot. None worked out for him.
  6. How is a manger supposed to scout players properly? Almost all clubs have moved away from this model and gone the sporting director route. If and when Eddie leaves, it makes it difficult for the next manager. Manager has enough on his plate already. Now he's dealing with his star player wanting to leave while also trying to keep morale of the squad high before a CL campaign as well as addressing reinforcements needed.
  7. Eddie wanted too much of a say in transfers. He's bit off more than he can chew. Now he's doing two roles and can't give 100%. Shambles.
  8. None of us know the facts. Journalists will peddle what the club want them to. It's my opinion reading between the lines and seeing similar scenarios.
  9. He's not injured. His head has been turned. News of the scan was conveniently released to buy club more time to persuade him to be on the plane for Asia tour. That didn't work. He's not flying. Club need to decide very soon to keep an unhappy player and close the door completely or sell.
  10. Not according to Liverpool journalists when the club announced the signing last night. They said they're still open to Isak signing as well as seeing Ekitike being able to play in several positions.
  11. If you see what the journalists were saying when Ekitike was unveiled last night (ability to play out wide and behind striker, Isak still an option, they're open to one or two moves still). No Jota, Diaz, Nunez, Chiesa, Elliott, Doak etc. They'll be after more. Rodrygo and Fofana heavily linked. We saw them overhaul their midfield 2 seasons ago (signing Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, Gravenberch, Endo) in one window. They might be doing the same with their attack. I'd say he's on strike or pretty close to handing in a transfer request but just not done it officially to keep things amicable.
  12. He would have travelled. He's training alone. That's a sign. The scan news was to buy time and see if he changes his mind. He hasn't.
  13. Saudi sale does not do the club any favour. You can't use it for PSR as there's conflict of interest.
  14. I don't think you know how bad Barca's finances are. Couldn't afford Williams or Diaz. Going for Rashford for free. Just finished paying off Messi etc. They still owe Ter Stegen around €40m and they've signed his replacement. They can't afford Isak. City and Real don't need a CF. Outside of PL, not many European clubs can afford him. PSG one of the exceptions.
