Good news, I think he’s one of the options that we have that might take the pressure off Wolt for getting the ball between the lines. Howe will likely bring him on at 60 to replace Big Joe for a few games before he figures out how to best use him though.
-
There’s no way any Italian club could afford him at this point, the only worry would be someone like Madrid, City or PSG coming in for him. He must be worth over 100m at this point if we’re using Rice’s transfer as a yard stick.
-
So if we sell him for around 5 million, that means we let Anderson go for 20m.. can see why we had to do it but the deal gets more and more annoying as time goes on.
-
Was it really 20m?

Pardew thinks we can win the league so maybe we’ll get to keep everyone 😂

He took that stand but we still got relegated. He should be in the prime of his career but seems to have thrown the towel in. Good captain but when things got upgraded he didn’t seem to have the fight to keep his spot. Back to original post: Trippier (we’d have gone down without him) Bruno.. no words needed Isak - both ways, won us a cup final and gave us a financial platform to take a leap. The cunt.

Amortisation is the key word. Most of our deals were over 5 years this summer so that 250 odd million that we spent will only cost us around £50m each season. Theoretically, we could still spend another £150m in January and still be well under the PSR limit. But we will need another big sale unless our financials drastically improve. We will lose another “purple” at some point.

Did well today, with a bit more composure he could have had a hat-trick. He’s so much more likeable than our previous front man. Just his general demeanour is so much more positive. If we ever see Wissa in the shirt this season, hopefully that will take the pressure off and let him express himself as he’s still carrying that burden of the wide players not doing as well as they should be.
-
I think he’s probably been fit to play for a while and not getting minutes will have caused him some annoyance, hopefully the last few games will have set him right again. But agree, even if other clubs are sniffing, we need to tie him down and if he wants a release clause, it needs to be something that makes financial sense. If VVD was a 75m player 4/5 years ago or whenever he moved, Sven must be worth at least 60-70 in today’s market?

Is there really that much more football than when we were playing European games in the 90’s?
-
They don’t help themselves though. If the process was a bit more transparent would help. Does anyone know how long Spurs or Everton’s planning phases were for their stadiums? We could be another 2 years from any sort of announcement at the pace they are going?

Much deserved! GTFI Fuck off Slot, Fuck off Isak, Fuck off Bin Dippers. And later on, fuck Chelsea too 🙂

Bradley would want to be careful 👀

The longer this has gone on I think the initial emotional response about leaving SJP has waned a bit. Would I be right in thinking the vast majority want a new build? A new stadium that’s truly multi purpose is a no brainer. Also don’t see why the capacity numbers are so conservative. They’ll have the data on how many supporters are trying to get tickets. Refuse to believe it’s only 13k more than our current capacity. The question really is, just how long term is PIF’s “long term commitment”? The longer no decision is made, doubts will creep in.
-
Yeah would be more of a logical move if VVD was going to Madrid or off to Saudi for his payday. I think this is simply a case of “oh he’s back in the team and doing well.. let’s try and unsettle him” Liverpool are the biggest cunts in world football. Cannot wait until their spell in the sun is over.

Not as shite as the mackems though.

Frank turning out to be a decent managerial appointment in no shock to anyone. League should balance out but this could be one of those seasons.
-
Hope they aren’t doing what they did with Botman.. just imagine him coming on, playing a few minutes and then actually completely rupturing his ACL because of this current damage that probably needed surgery.
-
Hard to tell at this point. Ramsey is a superior footballer based on the last 2 seasons but we cannot also discount that Willock was very good for us at one point. Howe will give him every chance to step it up but then if he doesn’t the writing is on the wall. The current Ramsey injury was a bad tackle? So can’t really blame him for that.. and maybe in previous seasons he’d already be returned but the current medical team seem far more cautious.
-
Howe's comments in the presser were quite telling. Basically saying without saying that he’s not doing enough in training and then not taking his chance when he does get minutes on the pitch. Won’t be surprised if he’s loaned out in January.

I’d like to see us try this when everyone is fit. The front 3 can switch around but the idea is to have Wolt play a little deeper to pass to either Gordon or Wissa playing on the shoulders of defenders.. Big Joe can help defensively on the left, or switch with Sandro when he chases back. And then Elanga would be the outlet.. and have the pace to get back and hold up any counters. There’s enough flexibility to adjust that lineup if something wasn’t working in segments of games.

No doubting his potential and he’s got the frame to be a beast, but he’s still only a kid and probably a little bit too “nice” at the moment. Once he finds his feisty side he’ll affect games far more. Big Joe needs to bring him to Ayia Napa this summer 🙂
