  1. “If guantee” would call you illiterate.
  2. I’m Irish and I’ve supported the club for 33 years. I’ve been to home and away games on many occasions. Whats your point?
  3. Today wasn’t the worst performance of the season. I’d say it was on a par with Brighton, Leeds and Villa. West Ham and Brentford were far far worse. City was probably our best. That in itself raises more questions.. perhaps it’s that they came to win and didn’t sit back. If that is the case then we’re a team that can only win in certain circumstances, one dimensional essentially. Could say poorly coached but we’re not allowed say that are we.
  4. There would be an opportunity to get in ahead of clubs like Liverpool for Alonso if Real decide to part ways as they probably won’t get rid of Slot before end of season.
  5. You’d have to question if anyone is elite if they ply their trade there, or China.
  6. Isn’t that just standard patter for managers who are losing their grip on things? I know he’s quite reserved but you’d want to see a bit of anger and frustration after a match like that. They just seem to be going though the motions.
  7. Believe me, I’d be much happier to be wrong. I love Eddie to bits but I just think he’s taken us as far as he can. Considering where that started, he’ll go down alongside KK and SBR as our best managers. There’s zero shame in it. He’s done an amazing job but it’s starting/already started to go wrong. Nobody can disagree with that at this stage. The club will always be more important to me than any single player or manager/coach.
  8. Villa are legitimately challenging for the league this season. Not a chance he would come now, or even in the summer when they are playing Champions League.
  9. I know you’re firmly in the Eddie Howe camp but as early as doors I was with my opinion, even you can clearly see a lot of posters on here are saying the same thing I did after the Brighton/West Ham/Brentford games.
  10. The other issue is who would come midseason? It’s just an utterly shit situation. I really hope he does turn it around but then part of me knows we’re just going to be having the same conversation again at some point next season. Who are the next batch of up and coming managers from Europe?
  11. Glasner isn’t the answer. We need to be a bit more ambitious if we ever did make that change.
  12. Hypothetically, it might be better if there were to be a change that anyone coming in could work with the players and then decide on who is good enough to stay or who needs to be sold. Hard to do that based on them running about in pre season getting fitness.

    Nick Woltemade

He’s a very good player that’s been let down by how the team are playing. It’s obvious the signings that have potential and the ones who have been poor. Wolt firmly in the can do much better, unlike some others who have shown nothing.
  14. I would agree but we couldn’t justify the sorts of fees we might get for certain players now.
  15. Oh we certainly have that pattern of the defenders playing it out wide, winger checking his run, passing it either to the middle (and we get pressed forcing it back to the defenders) or we just pass straight back and try the other wing for the same result. We could literally do that all 90 mins and draw every game.
  16. It isn’t just today though. It’s all the capitulating. The loss of everything that made us a good side. That wasn’t all resting on Isak. Managers just sometimes run out of steam, and their ideas no longer work or the players aren’t buying into it, which I suspect is also the case here. We have players who would bleed for this club but we also have some who just seem like they are waiting for an offer elsewhere.
  17. He thought we had control of the game..
  18. Suppose I’ll give my customary Howe post so that everyone can get behind him once again. Good performance against City and an easy trip to the scouse mackems but aside from that we’ve been utter shit, even against Burnley. We seem to have lost eveything we were good at. No ideas, it’s stale, shit transfers and we just look devoid of any sort of attacking plan. The team rely on the safety of the home crowd and fall to pieces away even just a short trip down the road. It’s not good enough. There’s no evidence of any real progress and the whole argument of “once Wissa is back we’ll be good” has zero value as he won’t be getting any service with such a shit midfield/wing play. I love the man for everything he’s done for the club and as a person he’s very likeable but how long can we allow the decline to continue? It seems more and more like the players have lost faith too. We need a rebuild which is mental considering what we spent over the summer. I don’t trust him to choose or give the go ahead on players who will make a difference. You run out of luck eventually and those runs we’ve gone on to save seasons was never going to be sustainable. Be surprised if he gets sacked before end of season but they must surely be looking at the summer now.
  19. I think that rule is only enforced when it comes to us. But in fairness, the dippers don’t fall into related party.
  20. No getting around it. He’s been a very poor signing so far
  21. Don’t know why Murphy wasn’t starting. He’d get it at least.
  22. 20m for a 33 year old would be good business. Considering he cost them 40. But we all know it’ll probably be over 50.
