Tactically he was schooled in the first half. We had some passing patterns that time and time again are absolutely useless in a low block situation. They picked us off on the counter at will. We don’t do well at all with beng pressed and teams seem to do it more against us than other teams. I watched a bit of Brighton last week and the way their defence was able to just play it out from the back with the opposing team sitting way off made me wonder why we don’t enjoy the same privilege. The penalty changed everything and we grew into it and realistically should have won that game in the end. I’d have taken a point beforehand so I’ve no major issue with the result other than throwing away the win again. Our game management this season aside from the City match has been some of the worst in the league. Is it all down to not having a fit and younger Trippier in the side to bark out orders and keep heads calm? We could have done with Ramsdale sitting down during the spell they were all over us in the last 10 mins. Where has the shithousing gone?

We played well second half. But that goal was just poor, they tried that dummy several times. He was far too late to make subs, when we were leading we should have changed it up and gave them something to think about.

It’s a first 11 that should be competitive. Strong options from the bench. Be great if Wissa gets 20/30 mins ahead of the derby. Expecting a good showing from Tonali. Aside from Bruno, that midfield should be fresh.

With Isak, it’s all mentality at this point. He’s downs tools generally. Maybe he’s actually depressed. Not that it sound excuse anything but it might explain a few things.

Am assuming he probably felt safe to say the things he did as others have gotten away with saying roughly the same thing, just with different language. His problem is that he’s thick as pig shit, so the words in his vocabulary have stitched him up essentially. He’s probably been treated harshly in this instance alone but he’s had it coming (and a whole lot more) for every other thing he’s done in recent years. Depends entirely on how traumatised he’ll be after this current stint. The big Spanish clubs are ruthless when it comes to giving managers time.

He’s 5’8/5’9 and not massively fast. Skillful though, and seems to have a good engine? Much rather Smit if it’s in the same ball park fee.

He’d not fit our model at all but would love if we hoyed a 15/20m bid in for him and got like 1.5 seasons out of him of his last years form. The dippers would hate it.

It’s the size of the contract too. He knows he holds all the aces in this situation. Earning tenfold what his manager does. In this respect I do think a salary cap is a good idea, in some ways at least. No player should be earning 300k+ a week, I know I’d lose the run of myself at even a small fraction of that and lose my motivation, career wise anyway. Fuck you money I think they call it.

I'd hope after some of the big money flops (Neymar) that they’d maybe start to see a bit more sense. If Salah came from the Middle East that would be one thing but he’s African.

It’s a much happier place having a gripe about playing shit and winning rather than playing shit and losing by 3 goals. Could be as simple as adding the right ingredients to the squad. We need to sort the GK position out. Get proper cover for Hall/Tino (who looked shot yesterday) and an athletic/technical DM (which he may not want at all)

I remember him as a completely different player when he was playing against us, strong on the ball and a constant goal threat around the edge of the box. Just seeing none of this now. He looks lightweight, not much pace, zero creativity. Basically a passenger. Think back to when Bruno made his debut, and following games.. we knew we’d gotten a serious upgrade. Was obvious right from the start. Just not seeing it here. You cannot make a case for Ramsey to start ahead of Lewis Miley or Joelinton.
