I think this is an important point. As a young lad, Eddie has had him over the time he'll have been a massive sponge. No muscle memory to erase, no silly burnt in habits. Just perfectly set to mould into shape. And it's clear when he plays he's calm, fully aware of his surroundings, and smart enough to make something happen. Of course he's not perfect, who is. But he's football smart, like Hall, and that's a very promising situation. Eddie and Co get credit for this, IMHO.

Shar saved his ass. Rooted to the spot as Shar clears off the line. Then the post saved him. Two he should have got to. Their goal would have had "PoPe GeTs ThAt" with Ramsdale. Well he didn't, and it was easier than the Chelsea freekick that Ramsdale was slated for. Him making a save is doing his job. Him being saved twice is not. He got very very lucky. His distribution wasn't the usual alarming mess, however. Possibly match sharpness, but they're both not good enough. Pope is the better of the two, though. See how he does against Palace.

While we desperately need a high quality creative midfielder...we desperately need cover for left and right back. I hope we don't fuck around this window.
