Yeh, I remember calling that out at the time. It was so lazy and arrogant. He just watched the ball slow as he continued to jog forward. Weird. Nothing to do with a central role, either...although that role is not for him. I do think the "out of form" thing is wearing thin. It's been so long that it's tempting to see it as his level, and the good run as a purple patch. Tempting...but not there yet. Someone mentioned earlier...he seems to need so much over-thinking and self-motivation...perhaps this is his issue.

Yeh, I want to see him have a run in the team. Problem is, high stakes means someone else is unlikely to be dropped. Unfortunately, it's probably dependant on an injury to another player. But a run will come, I'm sure of it.

Pope's stupidity definitely made this a nightmare. Marseille were on the rise and Pope allowed that to continue. He gave them a super-boost when they would have phased out for a bit. Their second was just a cracking goal, tbf. It's not all on Pope, that's for sure. But it was a MAJOR part of this loss.
