Am I that bad, or do you just have something against Germans? Before I visited England in 2014, I certainly had some prejudices. But since then, I've loved the people of Great Britain. From another Topic, I wrote: Please excuse me if I come across as a smart-ass or arrogant. That's not my intention. I just want to join the discussion. And perhaps the perspective of a "Kraut" might be interesting to you, too. By the way, I don't speak English fluently, so of course I also use a translation program.

Oh yes, something else I wanted to tell you. Premier League games are much more intense than those in the Bundesliga. The Bundesliga relies much more on safe passing and possession. Technically, it's no worse than the PL. But I've grown to love the PL. The ball is constantly being passed up and down. There are thrilling duels. Referees here tend to let things run more, which I think is good, because that's football. There are fewer dives; the football here is more honest. There's a fight for every ball. All in all, it's more thrilling and exciting than Bundesliga games. I've switched to the PL.

Newcastle United vs. Benfica: 21/10/25 @ 20:00 (TNT Sports)
Jack14Bojangles replied to HaydnNUFC's topic in Football
I've seen Benfica play against Bayern Munich or Dortmund many times. It's a home game and a great atmosphere. We're strong at home. I'm optimistic and believe we can win narrowly. 1-0 and a goal from Big Nick. -
I've only been watching Isak since he joined Liverpool. He hasn't impressed me so far. Today, he had a good chance that the goalkeeper saved. Wolte is the better player in my opinion. I've already seen him play in Germany. Even though some people here say he played very well here, I can't imagine him matching Nick's quality. And by that, I mean the whole package, like effectiveness, tackling ability, passing accuracy, and making the right decisions. Nick also has the better character.
-
Nick is a player full of passion and dedication to football. He'll simply have fun. And he has an absolute will to win. His passing accuracy is phenomenal and he has a great sense of humor. He's always quick to make the right decision. And he's so likeable and down-to-earth. He's my favorite player. I initially came to the Premier League because of Wirtz's move, and I've been watching games ever since. Since Nick started playing for Toon and I've experienced his game and the environment here, I've fallen in love. Now I have a Nick jersey and I really like Toon. I recognize the differences between them and Liverpool and have clearly chosen the Magpies. I don't like Liverpool anymore.

Brighton & Hove Albion 2-1 Newcastle United (18/10/25)
Jack14Bojangles replied to Yorkie's topic in Football
It's a shame, at least a point would have been deserved based on the second half. And then, of all people, that snotty Welbeck had to score twice. The referee called a lot of normal challenges against Toon. Especially against Woltemade. And what a goal from Woltemade – world class. -

The first few minutes were so promising. And then Walbeck, the actor. Nick Pope made another great save. Bruno also played well. Hopefully we can turn it around in the second half. -
Big Nick can easily score goals with any part of his body.

In the German follow-up coverage, a little boy in a Toon jersey was shown holding up a sign and asking for Wolte's jersey.
-
Yeah, Klaus Augenthaler.

I agree. For me, as a German, it's terrible to watch the way the national team is playing right now. I've enjoyed it almost my entire life. But unfortunately, things have been going downhill continuously since 2016. While we have a few very good players, as a team they're neither tactically nor physically strong. It's a real shame. I'm looking forward to Saturday and hope that the Seagulls finally get a beating from us.

He gets far too few balls into the box. I don't like Nagelsmann's line, with lots of possession, a la Pep, and always around the penalty area. Far too few vertical passes and too few crosses into the box. I'd rather watch Toon.
-
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he'll break the deadlock today and score his first goal for the national team.
-
I think Wolte has found his ideal environment here, in every area. If he's smart, he'll play here for many years to come.
-
Woltemade played 60 minutes today. He didn't receive any balls in the box and received far too few passes. But it wasn't easy for a center forward when all the opponents are defending in the penalty area. I hope that will change on Monday in Northern Ireland and he can finally score his first goal.
-
Yes, I felt the same way. Wolte didn't receive a single usable ball in the box and was also passed to far too rarely. Things are going much, much better here. I think he has the right team at Toon, and I hope he plays here for many years to come.

Thanks for the welcome. In Germany, players like Wirtz, Kimmich, and Musiala are much more in the spotlight. And especially Harry Kane. Of course, the appreciation for Big Nick is also increasing here, but since he's now playing in the Premier League, it will take longer than if he were performing weekly in the Bundesliga. Not everyone watches every Magpies game like I do. But it's also been noticed in Germany that he's had a great start here and is thrilling the crowds.

I just bet 10 euros that Big Nick will score at least two goals against Luxembourg today.
-
He has eggs and is healthy again. He fully participated in the final training. I'm looking forward to seeing him score goals against Luxembourg tonight.

You don't need to worry. Watch "Nick Woltemade is INSAME" on YouTube; that'll put your mind at ease. He's even better with his feet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhjEzXx5voI

Before this season, as a German, I hadn't followed the PL very closely. As a Woltemade fan, I discovered my love for Toon. Since I also think Wirtz is a brilliant player, I watched all of Liverpool's games this season. I'd like to share my impressions of both teams with you. The biggest difference I see is that his teammates immediately integrated Big Nick. They valued him as a person and a player and immediately incorporated him into their game. No sign of jealousy or envy. At Liverpool, on the other hand, I had the impression that Wirtz's teammates somewhat ignored him. He gets passed to far too rarely; if they have a choice between Wirtz and another player, the other player is almost always passed to. I noticed this especially with the three Dutch players. It seems to me that they were jealous and envious because of the hype surrounding him and the high transfer fee. As I said, that's my impression. Now, Wirtz is, of course, a rather quiet player and not as extroverted as Woltemade. Wirtz's teammates didn't give him as great a debut as Wolte's here. So I was able to compare the two clubs well, because I hadn't followed them that closely before. And then I fell in love with Newcastle United. Great team spirit, one for all, all for one. And you fans are amazing, that's why I'm here now. Therefore, I think that if the player is only interested in having fun playing football, Toon should always be the first choice.

I can't understand why Thiaw isn't in the international squad. I've seen all of his games this season, and he's performed very well. Are Nagelsmann and his assistant coach blind?
