MSN Messenger - sending files deathly slow

Receiving them is fine, but sending them is fucking ridiculous - it's like being on bastard dial-up.

 

Can anyone help? I've tried google...

 

PS - Both me and my recipient are on broadband.

You do realise that this is governed by your upload speed. This is typically 256k as opposed to your 1mb-8mb/s download speed.

 

There is no help, that's just the way it is. Using something like winrar to decrease your file size is the only help really.

Nah, sometimes MSN sends it at your true upload speed, then it'll say you have a connection problem and send them insanely slow.  Yet, you don't have a problem, because you can then send things perfectly fine on other programs.  That's what I've found anyway.

Aye, I know my upload speed is 256k, it's just horrifically inconsistent.
