Just taken the skin off the palm of my hand...

...trying to do the 100m on Beijing 2008. Fastest I got the guy going, and still finished last with 11 secs.

Only played it for about 4 hours, mostly with a sock on my hand. Given that all the other events require a similar amount of stick waggling, don't think I can be arsed hurting myself.

Trading it next time I'm in town.

Can't you switch it to button bashing? Sock-technique ftw.

Can't manage faster than 11.5 button bashing.

I was really good at Athens on the PS2, so it is either the controller, or the game is shit.

I quite fancy this game actually.

I've got

Forza Motosport 2

Sega Rally

Tiger Woods 08

Table Tennis

Virtua Fighter 5

Lego Starwars: The complete saga

PES6

PES 2008

Grand Theft Auto IV

Willing to trade a couple of those for it if you're interested ;)

Cheers, but I've already had an offer to swap for Lost and Lego Indy.

Actually hold on, why have you got a blister on the palm of your hand? Have you been stroking the stick or something? Surely it'd be better to nip it between your thumb and index finger..

Put a thinnish sock over your forefinger, wedge the pad in-between your legs (with the buttons away from your body, obviously) and rub your finger across the two buttons (A & B, or X & O) like fuck.

I'm telling you man, it's awesome.

That technique was legendary on International Track and field for the NES.

Didn't that come with the floor mat? I've still got calf muscles off that.

Sounds like a transferable skill.

Another vote for the sock technique.  It never fails (except in disciplines which require strict sequences of button pressing and/or and third button).

On the long jump and that I just twist my left hand around to operate triangle/Y with my thumb.

Where it fails is shit games that insist on only allowing square and circle.
