Nacho Gonzalez becomes the new player Valencia CF for the next four seasons. The Uruguayan international, who has militated in recent seasons on the Danube and in Monaco, will play ceded this campaign in Newcastle English.

Looks like we are in for this guy

Can we keep it about this guy and not about new/old board

Just so people know, he is a 26 year old Uruguay international midfielder, who played five games on loan at Monaco last season.

He is about to sign for Valencia from Danubio, and then Valencia will immediately loan him to us.

Never seen him/didn't even know he existed till five minutes ago, so can't really comment.

I assume he's our creative midfielder for the year?

EDIT: From what I can make out of his Spanish stats, scored 13ish goals for Danubio in 2006-2007 and about 7 in 2007-2008 before he left for Monaco on loan. Not bad if that's all from midfield

the old board would never have been in for this sort of thing.

Old board had zero ambition mate, never wanted anything for this club but to ruin it.

I thought that was this board?

I think he might have struggled to get a work permit to come straight here?

how would it be easier to get one here ?

Loan work permits are easier to get.

We once had a loan work permit for Friedel.

I'm sure we couldn't get a work permit for him and I'm sure the mackems also tried and failed.

No, that was another board.

Ah so it wasn't the board I was on about or that other board but the other other board. Gotcha.

No stop stop stop before NE5 reads it and another threads goes to the dogs!

We had signed Friedel on a short term loan, and we only sent him back when we discovered he wasn't going to get a permit for a long term deal.

Something like although I'm not sure this is the right place for this discussion, I could be wrong.

Apparently work permits aren't an issue because he has an Italian passport.

Wrong, we had him on loan and he was refused a work permit.
