Dave
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7637141.stm Comeback for Krypton Factor quiz Quiz show The Krypton Factor - which styled itself as the "toughest" challenge on television - is to be revived and revamped by ITV1 in 2009. Auditions will be held around the UK to find contestants for the programme. No presenter has yet been confirmed. The quiz was hosted by Gordon Burns for its entire 18-year run, although the final series, in 1995, was co-hosted by GMTV's Penny Smith. It tested the physical and mental abilities of four contestants. And its producers have promised to use "the latest technology" to challenge the next set of participants' observation skills, intelligence and general knowledge. There will also be a return for the assault course, which has been described as "iconic, menacing and 100% entertaining". 'Brilliant' format "The contestants' most dreaded foe will be back with new challenges, twists and technology," ITV said in a statement. In 2005 there was speculation the BBC would revive The Krypton Factor after one of its executives described it as "the next great gem of British broadcasting that should come back". Claire Horton, the controller of entertainment at ITV Productions, said: "We are taking a brilliant format and bringing it bang up to date with state-of-the-art technology. "We look forward to getting some brilliant contestants who viewers will really get behind, making it one of the most exciting contests on television." Was it any good? I used to watch The Crystal Maze.
hallihg
Imagine a world where Noel's House Party meets Telly Addicts. You've just imagined "Upstairs Downstairs"; a new gameshow hosted and devised by David Brent.

I used to watch The Crystal Maze. It was pretty good. I liked the video spot the difference bit; two sequences and you had to note down the differences between them: "Of course, the oxygen atoms to the left of Diane's ear in the second clip were lying in a slightly different configuration." I also liked the plastic puzzle bits with them all struggling to fit a square peg into a round hole, or a round peg into a square hole.
