Lightweight CD ripping software

I have a mate who doesnt have an internet connection at the moment but wants to convert all his CDs to MP3.

Is there a lightweight (free) program out there that does the trick perfectly that people have tried and trust? Ideally it would also be able to tag and name the files by using the source CD.

Personally I use Winamp to do it, is it the best solution to just send him the winamp exe?

Windows media player? The last few have all done it.

WMP to mp3 or WAV files ?

It'll do mp3, WMA or WAV.

how does it do WAV [never noticed this before]

WMP11. Go to the rip tab, click on the arrow under it. Change the format to WAV (although I'm not really sure why you'd want to).
