Haz
Just thought this would be a good idea to share some simple tips but real lifesavers. Apologies to those who know this one but it has saved many a photo for me and others. Photograph too dark? Go to layers menu and duplicate layer. In the layer properties change the new layer from normal to 'screen'. If this lightens up too much then change the percent value of the layer to somewhere like 50 - 75%. You can even duplicate the resulting layer as many times as you wish and the picture will lighten in a safe way. Photograph burned out? As above but change duplicate layer to 'Multiply' as many times as necessary. These tips work like a dream for pictures you would have to throw away and they improve good ones; especially for preprinting. Anyone else have any to share?
