Nobody needs an anti-virus.

It's a myth.

If you know what you're doing then an anti-virus isn't necessary at all.

If you don't know what you're doing then an anti-virus won't save you.

Just back up all your work to external drive (or partition your hard drive) then reinstall windows (or whatever) if everything goes pear-shaped.

I'm a PC, and I don't need an antivirus.

Seriously, waste of time.  If your router has a firewall, turn it on.  You need fuck all else.  I download all sorts of shit* and I've never been fucked over.

*Porn.

It does help. .Exe execution is prevented by anti-virus that can corrupt your directory tree etc. E-mail scanning for the challenged is also helpful. I think this comes under the (anti-virus won't save you)

A firewall won't save you from downloading a virus although it is necessary. The first two lines of digits in your i.p address relate to your internet service provider, the last two relate to your individual i.p. These can be scanned and through a simple process, viruses/trojans can be sent to your computer if no firewall is present.

Malware/etc is shite and most of us has had a variant of it. You should run malwarebytes or spybot or both once a month, seriously.

I don't have a mac though. I may be just paranoid  :frantic:
