Paypal c***s!!!!!

Ive been using paypal since 2003, never had a problem with it before.

I sold a 360 game on ebay for £30 the other day and I get an email saying the buyer (who has 100% feedback) has payed and like the great ebay seller that I am, I post the game off straight away.

Then a couple of days later I get an email from Paypal saying they have took the money off me and:

"This payment has been selected for review and we have opened an investigation.

This is a security measure meant to protect you from problem transactions.

We have placed a temporary hold on the funds until the investigation is complete.

Please provide some additional information about this transaction."

Now, they want me to provide proof of postage by faxing them, YES FAXING THEM the reciept!!!  What a f***ing pain in the arse man, I mean who the f*** uses fax?!?!? in 2009?, Ive used a fax maching once and that was about 1995 ffs.

f*** OOOOOOOOFFFFFFFFFFFF PAYPAL, casuing trouble for me over nowt.

So you basically have to send a fax....booo f***ing hoo

Sorry, I should have said they want a tracking number etc faxed to them which obviously you dont get when posting what is essentially a large letter by first class post.  Proof of postage is all I have which apparently they dont accept.

Meh, we'll see.

The thing that is pissing me off is that it is two ebayers with 100% feedback that they have decided to fuck about with causing nothing but problems which they say they are trying to avoid!?!?!.

Pick people with dodgy feedback to investigate would be my advice to them.

Is it not just that someone has reported that their paypal account has been used where it shouldn't have been?

Nah mate it seems Paypal are just picking transactions at random and getting the people who are selling an item to prove that they are not just nicking peoples money.

I've had a few problems before where people have paid me using paypal and it's then been refused. A pain in the arse, but it would be worse if someone stole my account to make payments and paypal had nothing in place to stop it....

there may be a way around this pedro, i had a similar problem with paypal before xmas, they also froze my funds i received when selling ps2 games, i was told they fell under the category of high risk items and my funds would be released once positive feedback was received, however once feedback was left they still never released the funds and numerous emails to them failed to get it sorted.

anyway i found out a way around it through the ebay forum, it worked for me so its worth a try, all i had to refund the buyer through paypal the sum of 1p as soon as i sent the refund the funds were released and able to be withdrawn, as i say it worked in my case and also for others on the forum i got it from, its certainly worth a try for the sake of 1p. just make sure you remeber to change the amount to 1p and dont refund the whole amount.

i tried emailing them over and over game without success when i had the problem, seriously it went on for over a month, just kept getting a generic reply telling me they were very busy and apologising for inconvenience without actually freeing the money

They have a phone number, phone them up. I have done before (got through to an Irish call centre) and they were grand, sorted everything out. Cant remember the number though.

Well Gemmil you were wrong I didnt come through it!, the bastards at Paypal decided to 'close the inquiry' with no explanation to me and pay the £30 back to the buyer.

So, not only have I sent the game, I have had the honour of paying for it aswell!!!

I have been royally stitched up by Paypal and the buyer seems a bit dodgy aswell cause they have closed their ebay account and are apparently uncontactable.

Total cunts.

I learned a harsh lesson on Ebay. I bought a game for £18 off someone. Against my better judgement I paid by bank transfer (the only payment method they accepted). I only did that because they had a huge amount of positive feedback. The next day they'd closed their Ebay account. I tried to contact them but got no reply. I tried to report them to Ebay but they make you wait a month before you can complain. After the month was up (and no game was sent to me) I raised my complaint. I had to wait another month and at the end of that Ebay said there was nothing they could do. I wish they'd told me that at the start. I had the bastard's name and address and had talked to a friend of mine who is in the Police. He said that they have someone who deals with this sort of thing all the time.

Ebay should take details off sellers so they can reimburse people when they are robbed.

I've never used Ebay since.

Just a quick bump for a rant about Paypal.

Absolutely shite, logged in just now and before I could do anything I had to change my password and set security questions, now I see my account has been limited due to supposed acccess by a third party so not only can I basically not do anything, I can't even close the account completely. Only bloody logged in to test out the Paypal bit on a website the other half is setting up.

Fair play if they reckon someone's tried to get in, but it's a right fuck on and I've been going round in circles for bloody ages. It said my account would automatically be reopened once I'd done all the things on the list, now they're all ticked and I still can't do owt. The stress!

Don't you have to wait for payment first before dispatching the item? That's what I've always done.

Yeah, but you can recieve a payment and think everythings all fine and dandy, go and post the item only for 5 hours later paypal to hold the funds.

it is doing my nuts that ive gotta wait for feedback, or wait 21 days, for my money from selling a game. fucker needs 2 give me feedback, he's sitting there loving his free game. fucker.

Aye mate its a c***, I paid to list a game on Ebay, went through the hassle of going to the post office to post it off, only for Paypal to reverse the payment to him so he basically got a free game which I had the honour of paying for, listing and then posting!!!

Grrr.

Have a look at selling on Playtrade. Me and my mum have both sold loads of games, CDs, etc. on there with no problems as yet. It's a simple 10% commission rate and if you're not exactly a prolific charge you can take advantage of there being no charge for taking it out if you spend it at Play.com.
