Sky TV and internet packages

The internet used to be useless. My girlfriend had it and the wireless kept cutting out. Not had a problem since I upgraded to Vista so that may be something to consider, as I think the wireless router that comes with the package doesn't like XP.

Unfortunately, you have to use the wireless router they provide which is a pain in the arse.

Sky TV has won four titles with two different channels, and three broadcaster of the year awards, whereas the Internet package is the fifth best of all time ;)

I have never had a problem with Sky personally.

I'll pass that onto my mam, who this info is for. She saw us win the FA Cup in 1955 by the way.

Cheers James  ;D

she has a new laptop with Vista, but its also because she wants to bin Virgin because its been complete rubbish, and also wants sky Tv instead.

I'd rather she didn't use a wireless router though ?

i put sky's internet in for my mam and she hasn't had much bother (to compare i've had no bother with virgin, both sky's and virgin call centres are very polite and sound like they have a clue but they don't). she'd rather have virgin tele for the "on demand features" but can't be arsed to change.

Well, to be honest, she is old and just wants her telly, the phone to ring me and the family, and the internet to do shopping and owt else she fancies looking at. So no fancy gadgets that she wouldn't understand, and I just want her to have something which for her is bombproof.

I don't know what she has done with her Virgin setup, but it never seems to be working, and as I have sky TV I could at least try to understand what she is doing if anything, plus she can run 2 TV;s from a skybox and not have to bother with the freeview channels.

I've saw the 50 quid, so if that means I can recommend her then I'll do it but first she has to serve out her notice of cancellation to virgin.

Virgin was aful for me in my student flat, we were meant to recieve 40MB but it stuggled to reach 3MB at most times and is awful for cutting out and generally being shit at peak times (5pm-10pm)

We have sky + with the sport and no movies, also the broadband package and telehpone.

Works out about 54 quid a month.

I find the customer solutions dept for broadband very helpful but you have to jump through the hoops for the guys in India first.  Once past them its a dodle.

You like jumping through hoops though don't you? You dirty little skank. In particular hoops that involve small Vietnamese boys.

That, young man, is ammunition for me.

Sky are going to get both barrels when I get back in tonight.

Good luck. Every time I call they couldn't give a fuck about my threats to leave.

You actually have to go through with your threat from what I've learnt from others, only then do you get offerred a cheap deal.

Didn't work with broadband. They put me straight through to cancellations who disconnected me without question.

Good thing I needed it disconnecting like.
