french accents in word on a laptop

haha everytime i post in this board asking for help your always lurking dave! but cheers.

 

yeah i see how that works but is there anyway of getting the accents going the other way ie è and ç ?

 

Have a look in the character map. There will be a code listed for them (eg ATL+0232 = è). You can find it on the bar at the bottom, right hand corner.

 

The number bit needs to be typed on the number pad to the right of a regular keyboard. Obviously you don't have this on a laptop. On my laptop, however, there is the Function "fn" key which I can press to use letters as the number pad. In the example above I needed to press... ALT+FN+mklk ...clear as mud? Good.
