GG
Everyone has to like the Beatles. It's practically the law. What's the best song/album of theirs? I've only just got every single LP, so I'm not really sure which one I like best.

Guest lankybellwipe
I'd have to saaaaaaaaay.......... the best of the Beatles!
James
It depends which era Beatles you prefer really, as they do change quite a lot. 1. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band 2. Revolver 3. Abbey Road 4. Rubber Soul 5. A Hard Day's Night That would be my top 5 of the originals, but the newly released Love album is a brilliant compilation of (majority) post 1965 stuff with a nice twist, Beatles 1 is a very good singles album, the Red and Blue albums are decent, and you just have to one day listen to Anthology 1, 2, and 3 in order. The only album I wouldn't necessary reccommend is Yellow Submarine, which only has four new songs (Only a Northern Song is the best), and contains the score to the animated film. OzzieMandias
The second side of Abbey Road, from "Because" onwards, is perhaps the finest 20 minutes in the history of pop music.
James
The second side of Abbey Road, from "Because" onwards, is perhaps the finest 20 minutes in the history of pop music. Sun King is a blip, and it's rock, otherwise I'd agree.

OzzieMandias
in a pub about a month back someone i sort of know tried to counter the 'fact' that the beatles wern't the best band ever by suggesting the sex pistols Just a couple of days ago, I wrote this in the "Introduce yourself" thread: FAVOURITE BAND: Been involved in music too long to have one particular favourite. Yesterday it was Harry Nilsson. Today it was Moritz von Oswald. Once upon a time it was the Beatles. Occasionally it's Frank Zappa. And in a way it'll always be the Pistols.
