a quick search of the web says that if you volunteer at reading or leeds festivals, you do 3 8hour shifts and get a free weekend pass worth £180, along with a special campsite and bar. anyone done this before and can comment on whether or not its any good? i would be seriously pissed if i ended up missing lots of the good music. done by an hourly rate, it works out at £7.70 ph which is very good although obviously you wouldnt be paying £180 not to see all the festival.

Volunteers had a lot of trouble last year with a***holes. IIRC a telegraph pole sort of thing landed on one of their backs and a few ended up in Hospital with other injuries.

s***! that sounds bad. maybe not worth the risk in that case

Just don't be a hero

I wouldn't do it tbh. Leeds Fest is an escape to total freedom and that's what makes it brilliant; i'd hate being told what to do on that weekend. Yeah you'd be going there for nowt, but it'd derive from the very point of being there in the first place, imo.

In related news... Blink 182 have just reunited so i'm pinning my hopes on them being there. :D

I also fancy Oasis to headline this year too - maybe they'll do Glastonbury though...

Gah i'm excited already. :D

When are they? Are there tickets left, or have they been released? How much would you be looking at?

Bank Holiday weekend in August... think it's around the 27th.

Tickets come out in April-ish, iirc - but they're nails to get your hands on. The websites went down within twenty minutes of their release last year; never known anything like it. They go up in price every year... and last year it was £155.00 for the weekend i think.

Cheers. Are they both at the same time?

Saw an article that Doherty and Barat had been offered to headline with The Libertines, Doherty was all for it, but Barat didn't want to.

Radiohead, Kings of Leon and Arctic Monkeys most strongly rumoured headliners this year...

Dunno though; KOL are headlining Benicassim i think so i'm not sure they'll do this one aswell. I'd be happy with them lot, though.

Glastonbury is already sold out so I'm definitely going to try and get my hands on some Leeds tickets.

When do they go on sale?

If Radiohead are headlining I'll barely be able to contain myself.

The first lot have sold out, more go on sale in the spring, no date has been given. On April 9th a few more Glastonbury tickets go on sale but they will be ridiculously hard to get hold of.

Oh and Bruce Springsteen is headlining Glastonbury on the Saturday night.

Main batch of Leeds tickets tends to go out in April.

Guess i'll have to buy a Radiohead album if they are headlining.

Don't, they aren't even worth downloading.
