So this is another third person shooter, where you are this invincible guy, and you and your mates actions seem to have caused a kind of crazy global warming, that turns arctic tundra in to tropical rainforest in a matter or years.

Sounds shit.

In that video all i saw was Gears of war, done worse, in a snow/tropical jungle planet. Gears and Uncharted are good as they have things that are different what I played of the first lost planet was that same boring badly done shit over and over.

Give over man, the first one was a decent shooter. Not the best game ever or anything like that, but definitely a solid game, and if they can improve on it, it should be a good game by todays standards as well.

Speaking to the Japanese press about how development on the title was progressing, Takeuchi explained, “There wasn't especially any big trouble. More than those kind of difficulties, the edited content was way too much and dealing with that was more difficult than anything.

"This time, truly, the content that was cut was significant and at the end, we had to wrestle with disc space."

Kotaku reports that Takeuchi expanded on how difficult it was to make those cuts, saying the development team was on "the verge of crying" as they cut the game to fit on the DVD disk.

Takeuchi did say, however, that the dropped content could appear later as DLC, which raises the question, will Capcom charge 360 consumers for it?

The co-op focused Lost Planet 2 will launch for PS3 and Xbox 360 on May 18 in North America and Europe, and on May 20 in Japan.

Sorry for the necro-posting, bur read this on the Edge site and found it rather interesting.

The idea of releasing as DLC sounds like a goer - at least as a money spinner for Capcom. Or is this their excuse for putting in a DLC code to cut down on the 2nd hand market.

Personally, it wouldn't suprise me if some games start coming with a mandatory unpack / install if they really are too big for the disk.

Either way, it's looking like good news for the PS3 and bad news for the 360 Arcade or those with a standard hard drive if this is the way that developers have to go to start releasing larger games.  I read a rumour somewhere around a year back that the size issue was one of the reasons why GTA Next was being held back as well (I know, you shouldnt believe everything you read on the internet).
