Munkey
vista itself takes up around 1gb of memory. so if you run FM and itunes the system won't be able to cope. to run it all ok, you'd need around 3Gb
Gash
Initially it was 2gb but gave a stick to my brother because this computer was quite redundant. Going have to get a stick back! ARgh
LiquidAK
If it's due to overheating, mine does that as well. Gonna get a cooling stand, as 3gb hasn't stopped the heat problem at all.
wacko
If it's due to overheating, mine does that as well. Gonna get a cooling stand, as 3gb hasn't stopped the heat problem at all. RAM wouldn't make much difference unless it was the hard drive running all the time. You should be okay if you keep it on a solid, flat surface. Or am I naive thinking they wouldn't build a notebook that overheats if run at full whack?
Guest Lazlo
Fm is notoriously processor intensive, so i would vie on a mixture of the two, performance drop because of not enough memory and heat issues because the processor is working much harder. Try more ram first
Stu
My HP Laptop keeps cutting out (overheating) when playing FM 2009...was initially using the "full power" mode but went down to "HP Recommended" power settings in the hope that it wouldn't be so intensive...no luck. Bastard keeps cutting out (it's incredibly hot) - coming up to my 1 year warranty in April. Can I do anything to fix this?
Munkey
what surface you got it on? if the fan can't get decent ventilation the laptop will shutdown to prevent over heating.
Stu
what surface you got it on? if the fan can't get decent ventilation the laptop will shutdown to prevent over heating. Last few times it's been sat on a table or desk with nothing around the laptop.
