Neil
I run Vista; basically next to the shut-down symbol on the Start menu, theres the little exclamation mark showing me theres updates to be installed. If I click on it, I find the next time I start up my laptop, the sound doesnt work ("no audio output device is installed"). Thus, I need to do a system restore. Does anyone know how I can stop this update automatically being installed when I click on 'shut down' via that route? At the moment I'm shutting down my laptop by just turning it off using the main button on it. I guess this isn't too healthy for it in the long run....
