Yorkie
I think it's amazing how they are only receptive to your finger. Hours of experiments have proven that anything of an equal size/weight/density to my finger end won't work. Only my finger. Awesome stuff.

Greg
Must be something to do with the skin, perhaps the temperature of it? Tried my elbow and toes and they both work on it.
LiquidAK
That's insane. I never knew that before.

Good job your lasses finger replacement can't get a round in or you'de be back to your wanking days.
BlueStar
Must be something to do with the skin, perhaps the temperature of it? Tried my elbow and toes and they both work on it. If it's like those touch sensitive lights and traffic light buttons it's to do with conductivity I believe. Try a wet carrot.

Fenham Mag
It doesn't work if you wear gloves. Loophole in the system.

davy_fulla
Was news to me that like. I've had to have a further look into it: Touchpads operate in one of several ways, including capacitance and conductance sensing. The most common technology used today entails sensing the capacitance of a finger, or the capacitance between sensors. Because of the property being sensed, capacitance-based touchpads will not sense the tip of a pencil or other similar implement. Gloved fingers will generally also be problematic (such as in a cleanroom environment). Likewise, moist, sweaty, or callused fingers will also affect capacitance sensing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Touchpad
Yorkie
Never actually checked out the callus idea. A couple of my fingers are shockingly cracked and callused, and it does hinder the movement. Weird. How clever is that?

Stu
It's heat sensitive, I think 'Electronic' signals between your fingertips and the cursor pad, wearing gloves or using a non-skin part of the body won't make it work
LesPaul
Never actually checked out the callus idea. A couple of my fingers are shockingly cracked and callused, and it does hinder the movement. Weird. How clever is that? The tough pads of skin on my left hand fingers (from playing guitar) cause problems too
