ennyoueffsea
Hi all, Just a quick question if I can please on behalf of partner. Not sure how logical this is. Can a program be installed on an external drive and therefore be used on a desktop pc and a laptop by simply unplugging and moving the external drive? Many thanks, Terry
Decky
Yep I do it for pretty much all big programs like Photoshop, Dreamweaver etc. When you are installing it, and the bit where you select the location comes up, just select a folder in your hard drive to install to, rather than the C drive. wacko
You'll have problems with some programs if you then try to run them on a different computer, though. Some things still get stuck on C:/.
ennyoueffsea
Thanks Wacko, Someone has told me that some programs will require some .dll's and registry entries from the pc where the initial installation has been done, that will be missing elsewhere. Told her to just try it and see what happens. Thanks again lads. Terry
