If you do go hunting a haggis, make sure you take a good rifle as they are quick and nimble little buggers.

Thought for Health and Safety reasons tourists can only do the net-catching version?

Ah, you may be right.  The laws must have changed since I was last up there.

i went the other week, most of princes street is dug up for them putting tram lines in, i think a lot of the buses are diverted so i had no idea on how to find one to the zoo

best getting off the train at haymarket and get a bus up from there. it's just one long road iirc. if driving bypass the centre and attack from the north.

Going to Edinburgh with the lass in a few weeks,

My advice would be this: don't.

really don't know too much about the place.

Seriously, keep it that way.

Whats there to do, thats like good basically?

If you must, then come and admire the spectacular scenery.

The Castle is brilliant and check out the Coventors prison at Greyfriars churchyard. Supposedly the most haunted place in Britain.
