MidfieldGeneral
I have Winamp installed on my pc and want to use it as my default media player. When I had my last pc all I had to do was install Winamp and tick all right boxes and that was it. Doesn't seem to be that simple though with Vista. Wullie
Isn't it the same? Go into Winamp Preferences, File Types and tick the right boxes.
MidfieldGeneral
Nah Wullie I'm pretty sure it aint m8. Windows Media Player is the default one and whenever I open Winamp manually it always comes up with "A program needs your permission to continue" and all the settings such as the equaliser have reset
Guest Lazlo
I think that winamp needs to be installed in administrator mode. If you install it normally it won't allow the new settings to be written to the registry.
Wullie
I assume Lazlo is right, my Winamp works just like it always has on previous Windows.

Guest Stephen927
How about if you right click the song in My Music or wherever, and go down to Open With, and then "Choose Default Program"
