Breast lump

I know this is a mainly guy area, but hey ho. I have found a lump, and I am off to the docs today, feeling sick as a dog. My twin died of cancer 2 years ago in June, and I guess its at the back of my mind that the same could happen to me. Was fine about it all, until about half and hour ago when I started to feel sick. Not a happy bunny today.

Oh shit you are right going to the Docs.

I had a cancer scare when I was about 15. Just sat on the problem for three years. It wasn't cancer, but I did need a small op, and given the endless secret worry, and the lecture I got from my GP, I was incredibly stupid.

I hope you are going to be ok.

Sorry to hear that, hope it's nothing serious. Glad you're being sensible and getting it checked out straight away. I can't even imagine how I'd feel if I found a lump.

We're all behind you. :)

If I found a lump I'd imagine that I'd probably just end up dying, since I wouldn't do anything about it out of either some kind of underlying fear of doctors, or just an arrogant belief that "it's happening to me so it can't be anything serious". So well done for being intelligent and hopefully it won't be anything serious.

Good luck.

One of my friend's found a lump on one of her breasts, was naturally distraught but went to see the GP...told it was benign but she should probably have it removed to be safe.

For a couple of weeks she ummed and ahhed over it (she was only 21/22 and didn't want to be scarred for the rest of her life) and eventually decided to go ahead with the surgery.

Having seen her breasts a few weeks ago, you wouldn't know a thing unless she'd told you

"I just want to know if I could tell that you've had cancer! Honest!"

Been to the doctors and she's confirmed that there is a lump and that I have to go to the urgent breast clinic. Told me not to worry, but its kind of hard not too.
