Try http://www.asda-travel.co.uk/, I saw a few good deals on there the other week!

Newark is far too far away from New York City to stay at. Fine to fly to (get train from there to Penn Station I think?)... but hotel wise you'd want something alot more central
pedro111
One thing I remember about NYC is just how dissapointing the top of the Statue of liberty is! You walk up all those stairs to the top and all it is is a gruby little platform with tiny windows that you can hardly look out of! You see all them massive windows on her head?, they are just for show, the actuall windows are about 1/5 of the size!! http://www.destination360.com/north-america/us/new-york/images/s/new-york-statue-of-liberty.jpg

One of lasting memories of New York will be being there in July 2001. We had the opportunity to do a "Top of the World" tour at the WTC, but we ending up not going. There were such fantastic bulidings. New York is probaly the best city in the entire world. Definitely in the US (well significantly better than Baltimore or Storrs anyway )

They were one of the first towns to get 50Mb broadband on cable. Not sure about the exhaust center though. Note 'center' in keeping with the thread
olliemort
Defo stay for at least 4 nites mate.I did and it was over way too quick, try ebookers or skyscanner they will search all the flights for you and just pick the cheapest one.I thought you would get the flight for cheaper than 450 tbh. Newarks only 16 miles from Manhattan, heres a link to help you getiing to and from the airport. http://gonyc.about.com/cs/airlinesairports/a/getto_ewr.htm Also make sure you go to Woodbury for shopping, unreal cheap. Its about a 45 min on a bus, defo worth the visit and you go to the vistor centre to get a booklet with even more reductions.Bring your passport. pedro111
I rode on the subway, its fine tbh. Although there are a lot of mentalists on there that is for sure, especially at night. Its kind of like the North Shields - Monument stretch on our Metro.

midds
The Subway's fine if you've got your head screwed on. Personally, I preferred to walk to wherever I wanted to get to, purely because of the feel of the place. It's a fantastic place and somewhere you'd never run out of things to do or see.
