Help me out wise heads.

I have 2 iphones. One is mine I bought the other is one I found. On Sunday night I erased the one I'd found as I intended to sell it.

On Monday family came to visit along with a young cousin of 10. I didn't notice the phone was gone till Tuesday. I have tore my room apart and looked all around the house.

Now I slept in late on Monday, and I remember him coming to wake up for which I opened my eyes and drifted back off to sleep. In short I think he's pocketed it. There's no other logical explanation as I literally have looked all through the house.

Question is do I ring my aunty asking if he has it? My Mam is ordering me not to , but its £200 in lean times.

Just ring and ask, what's the big deal?

She says Im accusing her son of being a thief.

And I found it in a taxi.

'Found' ey?

Thats the pickle.

Why didn't you just hand it in to the nearest police station. Most people register Apple products don't they?

What wonderful poetic justice.

Its golden.

Being a saddo, i dug out my law books- it can't be theft if the property has already been stolen once. R v Atakpu 1993. Basically Nixon has no claim to the iphone anyway.

was going to say the same thing. Nixon sounded like a right selfish twat there. (fair do's if you tried to find the original owner, though) But why be such a prick and delete all of his/her contacts and keep it for yourself? Couldn't you at least contact "mum", "dad", "Jonny boy", "sluty Sue" etc?? Talk about bloody moralty!

but as i said, nice one if you tried to find the original keeper. If not then....fuck off you scum of the earth.

I did actually.

I went through the phone book but all the names were in Chinese so had no clue of knowing who it was. I connected it to my Computer but that name was Chinese too. I also left it on for a few days and waited to see if they would ring.

Furthermore, even if you find property (the phone) by someone else's mistake (they left it in the cab)its still theft as Nixon would be under an obligation to either contact the owner or return it to Apple.

You could have rang Apple, supplied them with the serial number and they probably would have helped get it back to its owner, they would have got UPS to collect it and deliver it to the owners address. Alternatively as someone has already said, you could have left it into a police station. The only moral decision here was the one you had to make upon finding it and you made the wrong one.

You lost any right to choose a moral decision as the victim when you ignored the moral decision as a benefactor tbh.

EDIT: Egg on my face, just read a few posts up. Sorry Nixon.

EDIT THE SECOND: On consideration, I'm sticking to my original point. Nixon is a crook.

Where did you 'find' it in the first place? I've lost my stuff in the past and it has ended up at the nearest police station. Believe it or not, there ARE people who make the right moral decisions.

Wait, so this whole moral decision is about ringing up his auntie to see if his 10 year old cousin has took his phone!?!?! (well, the one he found)

What the fucks hard about doing that!?!?!?!?

Theres only one thing I can say to this:

:kinnear:
