I'm gunning for the beauty in the OP. Not that gash yellow colour mind.

But yellow is shexxxyy :(

Not at my age fella

I had a mail shot from Western Saab at Benton saying that they had a load of convertables in stock and they were looking to do deals to shift them for the summer.  Now could be the time.

I looked at them and really like the look of them but, the boot is all taken up with a compartment for the roof to fold into so it would be no good for the amount of stuff I carry about.

Also when you get to a certain age, let's say my age - slightly above 40, then you start to feel slightly prickish to be driving around with the roof down and music blasting from the CD..............

Oh no I'm no 40 yr old dinosaur. Young enough to drive a convertible, but too old for a yellow number. Cheers about the info. I don't live in the UK at the moment so it's a bit moot.

I currently drive a Golf but am thinking of upgrading to something a bit sportier but that can be used a family car as my lass is baking a bun,  I have a  budget of 20k + my cars worth 5 so I can whack that in, want something quite quick but that does at least 30MPG and that has a decent sized boot and 4 doors.  Preferably brand new

Any Ideas?  Was thinking of something like an Impreza but not as gay looking

Depends what you want. You'll get a lot of bang for your buck with the likes of a Skoda Octavia VRS or a Mazda 6 MPS compared to a Audi A4 or a BMW 3 Series where you pay for the name. Mitsubishi Evolution X is a saloon unlike the new hatchback Subaru Impreza.

BMW 3 series:

i like it

More are sold in the UK than Ford Mondeo's. BMW 3 Series feature in the top 10 cars sold in numbers alongside Ford Focus, Ford Fiesta, Vauxhall Corsa, etc.

I'd never really noticed it until I bought one. Now they're 10 a penny. Don't see many M3's though, so I'm happy enough ;)

I have a Golf GTI MK3 tbh i have no interest in new cars.  Maybe its since i because abit  wiser and realised how much shit i buy like ps3's etc.  I was in my mates bard new ford foucs and i have noticed this about most new cars , they have a massive dashboard and jsut feel to big.  When i drive an old car it feels just feels right.

nice alpha, love em, but is the stereotype about them true?

What stereotypes? You mean the bit about them having more breakdowns than Courtney Love? Aye. All true.

Alfa Romeo's are temperamental little bitches at the best of times, and ridiculously costly to run. But I'm stuck with mine for a good while yet, I reckon.

Got a 2k deposit for my new car but have no idea where to look or what to look for.  :undecided:

what you want it for? how much you spending?

Just use it to get from A to B really. And I don't know about the second one. Don't want to spend loads tbh.
