Any other fellow sufferers out there? Mine seems to have started early this year - having my first major sniffles this afternoon. Been taking anti-histimines for about a month or so now (to get it into the system) - bet it has bugger all effect though. :(

Exactly the same here. Only really started to feel it this morning, my eyes feel terrible and I'm sniffly. Bit annoyed as I had next to no bother last year so hoped I was over it. :(

I get it really bad, one year i even vomited blood because of it, however the medication available is amazing. A little tablet and if needed abit of nasal spray and I get no symptoms what so ever :D

Does anyone else find they struggle to breath in a little bit at this time of year? I'm literally gasping for breath every few minutes and did the same this time last year.

Tell me, I'm not the only one..................

Ah me too. The Asthma never affects me at any other time of year though. Weird.

Glad I'm not the only one. You found something that helps it Decky or not?

I just usually try to control my breathing, if its really uncomfortable then id sit outside in the fresh air for a few minutes because its easier to breathe. Also as odd as it sounds, try yawning, usually the only deep breath I get when im feeling like that is when I yawn.

Yeah - yawning is how I control it now.

It's a bloody horrible feeling though.

It's getting more noticeable now too. Last year I had the Mrs change washing powder and all sorts as I thought it might have been an allergy or something.

How long does it go on for, for you?

Just little periods in the year, might have trouble for a couple of weeks then be fine for ages, then have trouble again.

Mine tends to hang around early summer every year for a couple of months and then disappear.

Like I say, it's getting gradually worse, so I'm going on the hunt for something to ease it. Will let you know if I find anything that works.

Last year I had to go to the doctors on a saturday, walk in centre, because I couldn't breathe properly, felt really tight in the chest.  Was told it was probably hayfever and got one of those asthma pumps, sorted it out no bother.

Had no trouble at all this year so far!!  Usually always get a touch of hayfever every year though, not as bad as some people who can't even go out of the house because of it.

Used to get it really bad when living down the south and couldn't really leave the house.  Hated Summer.  Medication had little effect and had to have injections to get through exams.  It has never been a problem for me up here thank god.

Yup! heres a big tip for you guys:

Don't buy the Hayfever tablets you see in adverts that generally cost £3-5.

Instead go to a chemist and buy Loratadine. Its exactly the same tablet as the commercial products like Clarityn but you get 30 in a pack (instead of only 7) for about £2-3

Will save you lots of money in the long run, trust me.

EDIT:

http://www.chemistdirect.co.uk/allergy-and-hayfever-relief-loratadine-30-days_1_1818.html

Save over £8 on high street chemist prices. Allergy & Hayfever Relief One A Day Tablets contains the same active ingredient as Clarityn tablets which retail for £8.99 in chemists and supermarkets.

#  Size: 30 Tablets

# £8 less than Clarityn

# 69p!

  • 1 year later...

Didn't get round to doing the old 'eat honey in the winter' trick which has served me well for over 10 years now.

No hayfever symptoms this year so far, touch wood.

Aye, I went into Medicentre last year around this time and just asked for anything and they gave me this, top drawer.

Nothing yet this year but I haven't played anywhere near the same amount of Golf as last year, when I couldn't see by the end of the round at times, but I'm sure I'll be getting it soon enough.
