I think its a parent's nightmare. Not only has this little lad got the physical injuries to get over but him and his brothers have the psychological damage to get over. How will they be able to get over seeing their brother attacked? And why do people allow their dogs to wander around off the lead in places where kids can be playing?

My 9 year old is terrified of dogs that come running up to her, because my dad's neighbour has two staffies and one of them came running up to us snarling and barking. Now whenever any dog comes running up towards her she bursts into tears and becomes hysterical despite me trying to reassure her.

What pisses me off, is people with dogs they obviously do not have the strength to conrol. This generally falls into the bracket "I'm  not a hard guy, but my dog says that I must be!" Sad fuckers!

Fact is dog owners are the issue not dogs, you haer about staffies, rotties, pit bulls blah blah blah but in 1 year I bet more people are bit by jack russles and the like. Trouble is when a dog like a staffie attacks its a mauling not just a bite.

The field I go to see's a lot of dogs on there in the morning maybe 15 - 20 dogs in about a 3 hour period, we see lots of people walking their kids to school too, my dog will run upto kids he loves them, he is just 1 and its a work in progress to stop him in his tracks before he gets there.

I know my dog and I know he would not bite but strangers do not know that and people can get really shitty about him going upto them, yeah kids do have fear of dogs but parents at times seem to enfore the faer by panacing too.

My little is 7 and she is dog mad and I try to tell her she cannot just go upto any dog and stroke it she has no fear at all, I don't want to effect her love for dogs but she needs to learn that not all dogs are nice. At least now she will ask the dogs owner if she can stroke them, when she remembers that is.

I have to admit I am worry when she is going upto a staffie or any bull terrier type dog purley because of the damage they could do.

But cunts who just open the door and let their dog rome need to be shot not the fkn dog, of course maybe the dog escpaed somehow and the owners had no idea it was out.  I put money on this latest dog being a staffie not because I see them as a nasty dog but because idiots get them so they can look hard, the dog shelters are full of unwanted staffies, poor dogs that idiots have teased since they were pups and who show nothing but aggression. Marley plays with about 4 staffies when we go out all with different owners and all great nice dogs.

I agree.

When we got the cat from the Dog and Cat Shelter we went in to have a look at the dogs, no intention of buying one, and they were mainly staffys in there. The bloke was saying loads of people buy them purely as an accessory and then either cannot handle them, or can't be bothered with them.

Couldn't agree more, i have a staffie and she's quite big but really placid. I'vs seen mums physically picking up their children if she comes within 50 feet of them. I don't really blame them because they don't know the dog but in instils the dog fear culture to the children.

The one downside to all terrier breeds is that they won't back down from a challenge, you tend to be a bit wary of them if they're meeting a strange dog but that goes from jack rusells to mastiffs, not just staffies.

Like it has been said, owners teasing the dogs, inciting aggression etc is a much bigger factor than the dogs themselves. If these dogs are left to roam the streets, it's an accident waiting to happen.

My idiot dog won't back down from other dogs, on the field in our little dog group my Aunties border collie Toby is top dog, stands out a mile the respect he gets from other dogs but Marley will have a pop at dogs he is not used to, not all of them just some, Even more so if he thinks they are after his ball, its mostley a lot of barking and unless it gets nasty we let them go, he needs to be told his place in the pack and the other dogs will do that.

There is one dog however that he hates with a passion its a staffie cross called Duke, his owner is a dead canny lad but he has had real issues with Duke and agression, he was fine then he just turned the lad has tried everything to sort him out.

We do not see a lot of him but first time Marley was just a pup and Duke had a right old go and Marley has never forgot and go's straight for him now when we see eachother we put them both on their leads, its a shame he stays away from the group because of Dukes agression.

The last few days this dog Pepsi has been down in a morning, Marley knows her, well seen her a few times but over the last few days they have had a bit of a barking fighty stand off, no real fight but he just keeps having a pop at her, she is lovley to and if she does decide to have him he will be fkd. We just let em get on its the best way.

Yet this lab with Marley is heisbest mate  Sandy can go after his ball no bother, ofcourse he aint daft and will only go after it if I pretend to throw it one way and send Marley off down the field then throw the ball the other way so he knows he can get there first.

Once he gets it this is what we go through, wins the ball lies stright down until Marley comes and wrestles it off him, at times they lie there for ages as Marley has his head right in Sandu's mouth. They do this maybe 20 to 30 times.

Most of the idiots on that show tonight deserve to have their testicles bitten off by a french mastiff, tbh. Two lasses walking through the park and they couldn't control a labradoodle never mind a staffy.

I would, with no concern kick any dog in the face that attempted to hurt my dog, he's like family now.
